devenv aborts running C++ managed code in debug mode

Windows 2003 Server
..Net Studio 2003

Creating a simple Windows Form application from the templates, if I try to
run it in debug mode devenv.exe aborts with this info:

An unhandled exception has been caught by the VSW exception filter.

AppName: devenv.exe AppVer: 7.10.3077.0 ModName: acspecfc.dll
ModVer: 5.2.3790.1830 Offset: 0003b698

This occurs before the first breakpoint-able line. Basic and C# debug works
okay. Also unmanaged C++ code can be run in debug mode. The program runs fine
started within the ide with no debugging.

I also have Visual Studio 2005 on this box and all flavors of debug running
work fine.

The only online references I see to the acspecfc.dll component refers to XP
and relate to earlier versions than I have.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hello, I am in the process of writing an XML analyzer. In order to build the tree structure I intensivly rely on recursivity. The depths are not excessive. With no more than 10 recursive calls emboities. But it has as many calls as of XML nodes. Each level of recursivity waiting for termination contains a character string of a few tens of characters. My larger files do not exceed 100 KB. In an unforeseeable way, on

I am using devenv to build a solution. The Solution comprises 2 projects :- one C++ and the other a Fortran project. I created this solution by automatically converting a Visual Studio version 6 project. When I build the solution in a Visual Studio .NET workspace, it builds successfully with no errors in either project.

How can I tell if my C# code is running in debug mode? I need to execute some extra code only when my project has been compiled in debug mode. In release mode I don't want to execute this extra code. I was looking for something simple I could test like: #if DEBUG do_extra_code #endif

Hello, I am trying to create a dll that internally uses managed types but exposes a plain unmanaged interface. All the managed stuff shall be "wrapped out of sight". So that I would be able to use that dll from pure unmanaged code (for example inherit from classes in that dll). Is something like that possible. I heared something called ManWarp tried that approach. If it is possible, how can I do that. Maybe there is a small litttle

Sometimes, I want to archive or transport a solution. In such cases, I would like to remove all redundant files from the solution, i.e. all compiler output. The documention describes the command line switch /clean (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/vsintro7/html/vxlrfclean.asp). However, when I perform this for a solution, not a single file is removed. I have seen that the process devenv is actually...

Suppose I have a program that prompts you with a dialogbox to enter a password. If you get the password correct, it allows you into the program, else it kills the program. Suppose that when I am in Visual Studio, running the program in debug mode, i want to bypass the password prompt because if i am the developer, i am definately allowed to use the program. I assumed that I could use the this.DesignMode property while in my main...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
