How is it possible that the question "How do I detect which browser
the user has" is missing from this FAQ:
http://www.faqts.com/knowledge_base/index.phtml/fid/125
and is only here on this with a link to old information that suggests
use of "navigator":

Anyone able to explain to me why you cannot define an interface that can
then be implemented using static methods?
I understand the C# CLS states this, but just interested in the reasons
behind it.
thanks,
Steven

Hi folks,
Im writing a small GUI application to deploy objects that allows a
user to create my objects, set it's properties, serialize it into a
binary package for futher load into production enviroment.
Among those "properties", the GUI allows a user to create delegates
at runtime and bind it to the object's events.
Hoever I'could see a way to check which methdos from some class
adhere to same delegate declaration with the EventInfo...

I've extended the article "Covariance and Contravariance in Delegates" from
the C# Programmers' Guide, and it seems contravariance of delegates is
implemented wrong.
Lambda calculus states that Handler2Method is a subtype of HandlerMethod...
why can't I cast (it should be implicit conversion, actually)? However the
last line does work, but I'm not wanting
to create new delegate objects. I'm actually implementing contravariant
events,...

I am using .NET framework 1.1 SP1, .NET framework SDK 1.1 SP1, with hotfix

I have generated a proxy class using wsdl.exe from a schema that has an
xsd:date element called XYZ_IncDate.
<xsd:attribute name="XYZ_IncDate" type="xsd:date" use="required">
If I change the xsd:date element to be optional, then wsdl.exe generates two
attributes for the date field in the proxy class:

Does the following program require a diagnostic? Which section
of the Standard deals with this? (I read the section on function
calls and didn't see anything).
void f(void);
int main(void) { f(); }
Is the answer still the same if the function declaration was:
static void f(void);

I'm implementing entity object which should populate its properties from
database when property is first referenced.
In RDL reports I use object properties like
MyObject.MyProperty
MyObject is instance of MyEntity class. There is no MyProperty property in
MyObject at design time.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
