I've been playing around with ClickOnce today, and it's all good stuff.
Except, that if I change my application to NOT be full trust (which seems to
make very little difference to the user prompt, which scares me!) but to be
installed on the start menu, it seems I don't have permission to call
CheckForUpdate()!
I understand that if I'm not a full trust app, I can't read the filesystem
etc., but not being able to update myself seems a bit...

I have a WinForm(VB 2.0) application that I am publishing as a ClickOnce
installation. We have a need to publish the same application code for several
configurations. (Staging, TestSystem, LiveSystem) Each of these
configurations differ only in app.Config changes. I would like the ability to
install all of these side-by-side on a machine. Also, we QA our Staging build
before publishing as live, and I am concerned that I have the ability to...

We have a VS2005 Team setup and are developing a Windows app (smart client).
We are in the cattle feeding business and have 10 distinct feedyards across
the U.S. When we wish to deploy an update to our app, we must change an app
setting in the project (the IP where the data access layer is) and also the
URL in the ClickOnce (to correspond to a server at a particular feedyard).
Once we publish, we have to change the app setting and the URL...

When I publish an application with ClickOnce, I specify Major, Minor, Build,
and Revision numbers for the Publish Version, for example as 1, 0, 0, 97. But
when I view the version of the exe file in explorer, or get it
programatically, it comes back as 1.0. 0.0.
The code I use is
FileVersionInfo fvi =
FileVersionInfo.GetVersionInfo(Application.ExecutablePath);
string version = fvi.FileVersion;

necesidad. Hay alguna manera para evitar esto ?. Mil Gracias.

I have a windows form application being deployed using ClickOnce on Terminal
Services.
I am experiencing a problem where by the first user to run up the
application is successful and the app downloads and launches successfuly,
however if a second user logs on to terminal services and attempts to launch
the app then the "Verifying applications. This may take a few moments"
message does appear briefly and then disappears but no...

Has anyone managed to get ClickOnce to work with Firefox? It seems to me
that it still has the same issues VS 2K5 had.
I appreciate any comments or tips.

Here is my problem. I have an app that has over 9 web services. For years I
had not issues with clickonce but now it looks like the build is missing
XmlSerializers.dll.deploy. I did have this issue once in vs 2005 and one the
problem just went away. Well now its back. If I build the app 20 times it
may work once. I did find that if I remove this as a required dll that I can
get my program to run. I can't seem to find any info about...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
