Hi all,
The problem is as follows:
I need to authorize a user: through a WS; if a setting is on, the webservice
will look in the local "database", if the setting is off it will connect to
the server ip that is set in the configuration and call the same WS to check
the user in the remote "database".
So far I don't know if I can call a webservice method from a webservice
method...

When a webservice is called through BeginInvoke asynchrously and an
exception is thrown, this exception is not propagated to the client
(obviously). Asynch client simply does not care about it.
However, there are cases when the client would like to call the same
webservice synchronously. In such a case the client will be interested in
receiving the exception and displaying it to the user, or do whatever he
needs to do with it.
Adding...

I am writing an Access 2003 application that consumes a web service (VB
..NET). I communicate with it through the class modules that Access creates
for you when you establish a web reference (Tools\Web reference ...). The
problem is that when I invoke these methods, Access hangs until the web
service responds (or worse, doesn't repsond).
I would like to be able to put in a call to the web service and regain
control in Access until the...

I am trying to consume my first WebService in a C# Windows Form in
VS.NET 2003. I have created a Web Reference using the WSDL URL
(http://www.capescience.com/webservices/airportweather/AirportWeather.wsdl),
which created the Proxy class. I can see the WebService and its
methods in the Object Browser.
It was my impression that I should be able to simply instantiate the
webservice now and use its methods, so I have the following code:

Howdy,
I wrote a web service in .Net for my customer. My customer has another
vendor who now has to consume it but they are not using Visual Studio. Most
of their pages are jsp, and they said they need to consume this web service
using HTTP. The developer's IDE is Notepad. Yeah, weird I know.
How is this done? I guess if I can get it to run ASP, IDE independant, that
should make them happy. Any references you can point me to?

Hello.
I have a webservice located on a machine within our network. I have
developed and tested this webservice internally without having to worry
about credentials. Now I wish for web applications located on a server
outside the network to be able to consume this webservice. I do not
want to put the webservice outside the network, and only want to allow
a handful of web applications to be able to consume it.
The error I'm getting...

I hadn't had a class yet and I had some MS help on this to set up, but I
wrote a .Net WS that creates a proxy class response using SOAP. Works fine.
And in kind of a good way, the IDE has hidden the SOAP implementation so from
my end I'm just creating, passing back my XML proxy class.
The client side consumer of WS has for 1) text file containing entire SOAP
response and recently 2) average size of response in bytes to iclude SOAP...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
