I've written a web service for handling user authentication and session
management. Now I'm wondering if this was such a good idea for performance
and security. This ws will be instantiated and used from classic ASP.
Every page is making several calls to the web service. How do you think this
will affect performance? The application has 10 to 50 users in it at anytime.

Is it possible to use a SoapClient derived class to send a message to a Web
Service (eg a .asmx file)? It it is, does anyone have any code they could

I am using MS SOAP client provided with SOAP Toolkit 3.0. I have set the
timeout for this application to 20 seconds.
On some occasions, when there are network problems and the call to the
webservice is not able to complete succesfully, the client waits for 50
seconds before returning an error.
I include an example of the code I am using to set this timeout:

We're creating a Windows Service with the .NET Framework (.NET 1.1 and VS
2003) and have an obvious requirement to send commands and data to control
the Windows Service.
In the Windows Service, we're thinking of implementing a SOAP listener on a
"private port" using WSE to support the above requirement.

I have a web service developed by .NET, and I call it from vb script by
createobject("MSSOAP.SOAPClient"). In my development environment, it's ok.
But when I deploy it to other machine, it error out since There is no
MSSOAP.SOAPClient on that machine.
Where can I get it(mssoap1.dll) and how to install it?
