Need help deploying web service on another server

lmm
Here are the steps that I used to deploy the project:
-right-clicked on my solution project and selected add new project
-I selected "Web Setup project"
- right-clicked on the "Web Application Folder" and added Project
Output..."Prima ry Output"
-Then, I built the web setup

Then, to get the project to another server:
-I found my Visual Studio .Net project in the filesystem and copied and
pasted it in the other server.
-I had already set up the IIS virtual directory that it would use.
-I clicked on the setup.exe and the installation took place
-Now, in my Virtual Directory I have a /bin directory with a .dll file

Now, what do I do to test if this is working?
On my local machine I simply typed in the browser:
http://localhost/Test/example.asmx

But, this is not the case for my other server when I do the above I get
/Test not
found.

This is my first time creating and deploying a webservice and I don't know
much about .dll files so I have no idea what I can do to perform a simple
test.

Thank You.

Hi all. I've created a web service that runs fine on my development PC running W2K. The service is consumed by an ASPX page. (written using vb.net). I can deploy the webservice without any issues to another W2K production server and discover the service from the rebuilt ASPX application (now referencing the production version). The issue I'm having is that when I deploy to a Windows Server 2003 environment it doesnt seem to want to work...

I have created a web application that uses a custom control and a web service on my local system. I have gotten all of the bugs worked out on my local system and now it is time to move it to the sever. I have tried copying all of the files and folders within my application folder. I have even tried building a web setup and installing it on the server. The problem that I am having is that my web service is still looking for the web service...

Hi there: I'm a veteran to ASP.NET 1.1, but new to 2.0, and I'm using VS 2005. When I run the app on my local machine, using the built-in Web server, I have no problems, but deploying the site to a 2003 Server machine (which is also running several 1.1 sites) throws a persistent 404. I've looked around and found several references to the app_offline file, for which I've searched exhaustively and found nothing. I'm essentially running...

I've written a Web service. It runs fine from Visual Studio 2005 on my local machine. Seems to be running in some kind of internal Web server or something, because I have a funny icon in the system tray and can't run the service by typing a url in my browser. But VS doesn't seem to have a problem. So now I want to deploy it to the server. I copied the entire project file system to the server (because I couldn't work out what else to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
