I wrote a program that loops through a file of records.
It parses each line in the file and sends them to a web service that
inserts them into an AS400DB2 database using Asynch calls.
This is the wierd part. Say their are 500 records in the file.
If I run the process once, maybe 250 will appear.
If I run it a second time, maybe 400 or all the records will appear.

I create and start several threads, each thread executes the same method -
within the method, a web service is invoked. I find that the more threads I
use, the longer it takes for all of the threads to finish. The threads are
asynchronous, correct? And I thought each would be able to use it's own
version of the web service. Am I wrong, does the web service force only one
thread at a time to execute?
Here is code if interested... I'm...

Hello,
I'm experiencing a problem that I'm hoping someone might be able to shed
some light on.
I have an ASP.NET page on a Windows 2000 machine that makes web service
calls to a .NET web service. Once in a while the ASP.NET process gets to a
state where the web service call to the web service hangs and then does a
timeout. While the ASP.NET process is in this state, looking at the TCP
connections, the TCP connection never shows up for...

I've got a .NET Framework V1.1 web service running on a Windows 2003 Server
that has 2 web methods that are called from a web application on the same
server.
One is a fire-and-forget method that executes a long running process that
results in a database being updated.
The other is a normal syncronous method that returns configuration
information to the caller.
They both log their errors to the application event log.

Hi there,
I have a python application (many python scripts) and I start the
application like this
python myServer.py start
in window. It is running in dos window. Now I would like to put it in
background as NT service. I got a example code: SmallestService.py from
chapter 18 of the book "Python Programming On Win32" by Mark Hammond
etc. The code is as follows and runs well as an NT service.

I need some help regarding the mechanism to put in place to be able to
dynamically update a remote object when the assembly where it is defined is
modified, and this whitout having service interruption.
Basically what I'm missing is how do we re-expose a remote object when
assembly has changed, and this without any interruption to the callers.
I have an application that exposes a remoting object (Well known service -
Singleton or...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
