Have to clean up an old class library and have a string class with slightly
different functions. The interface I wrote works quite well except the
operator! Actually I only need sdl string operator but how can I call

Hi,
I'm in the process if converting the data out of an old DOS-based
SunAccounts system (don't ask!) into SQL Server.
The data has been sent to me as a collection of hundreds of SunAccounts
backup files and it's a simple (yet extremely laborious!) process of opening
each backup file in turn, reading the file line by line, splitting it up
into its constituent parts, and then squirting it into SQL Server.

Hello, I'm currently learning string manipulation. I'm curious about
what is the favored way for string manipulation in C, expecially when
strings contain non-ASCII characters. For example, if substrings need
be replaced, or one character needs be changed, what shall I do? Is it
better to convert strings to UCS-32 before manipulation?
But on Windows, wchar_t is 16 bits which isn't enough for characters
which can't be simply encoded...

Okay I'm getting really frustrated with Python's Unicode handling, I'm
trying everything I can think of an I can't escape Unicode(En|De)codeError
no matter what I try.
Could someone explain to me what I'm doing wrong here, so I can hope to

I'm trying to get the control name of an editbox in another window.
The following code set the value "MyPassword" in the password EditBox
but it fail to return the control name of the EditBox. I'm sure the
problem is the way i'm using the sendmessage API, the return string and

I'm getting really annoyed with python in regards to
unicode/ascii-encoding problems.
The string below is the encoding of the norwegian word "fødselsdag".
I stored the string as "fødselsdag" but somewhere in my code it got
translated into the mess above and I cannot get the original string
back. It cannot be printed in the console or written a plain text-file.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
