I need to generate HTML files based on the some codes. One HTML file per
code. I have the link
(ex:http://123.234.345.456/WebPages/GetTestData.aspx?SomeCode=25), by passing
the code as parameter I will get the page displayed.
But I don't want to display it, instead save those files in one of the
network directories that can be accessed by our third party vended web based
application. How can I do this accessing and saving HTML files a...

Hi,
I'm working on a multi-threaded application. I'm using ThreadPools.
One of the requirements of the application is, if certain exception occurs
all the
counters have to be reset. I have noticed that some threads, even after
resetting
the counters, have the old values.

I'm trying to build a Web Service that will kick off threads as logging
requests come in. These threads will then log to the database. I have
been able to make a simple Web Service. I have been able to get a
simple multi-threaded example working. I have been used the
SqlDataAdapter and DataSet classes extensively to access databases in a
deployed Windows Service. But I'm getting confused how to put the
pieces together.
For example, I...

I inherited a C++ DLL that I need to remotely call multiple times
asynchronously. What I have developed is:
CSharp web application that makes asynchronous calls to a CSharp Web
Service. The Web Service calls the DLL, which does some heavy
processing, then sends the results back to the CSharp web application.
The problem is that the calls to the DLL in the Web Service are blocking
each other. If I send 10 async requests to the Web...

Hi,
I'm new to writing services and found it pretty easy using VB.NET.
My service has an internal timer that fires every 3 seconds. Each
time it fires it opens a SQL DB and looks for a specific set of
records. Each record it finds it sends to SAP and then changes their
status so they won't be sent again.
When I run this code out side of a service ( I built a small

Using multiple System.Timers.Timer objects in a Windows Service for
performing multi-thread activities in a periodic fashion. Timers are
AutoReset=false, to only have a single timer execution thread running at any
given moment.
Typically, timers will have an interval of 5 to 15 minutes. Conditionally,
the interval may be set to 1 second (1000 ms) before the next call to
Timer.Start().
Here is the question: if the interval is one...

Hi,
I've got a requirement to poll a web service for data but it needs to
be done very frequently. The web service call is straight forward, it
just returns a simple table of data with no more than 50 rows. It's a
third party web service so i have no control over it. The problem is
each call is on a per user basis and the client said if its succesful
it there could be 100,000 users. The frequency of each call could be
once a minute...

As far as I know, the C Standard has no mention of multi-threaded
programming; it has no mention of how to achieve multi-threaded
programming, nor does it mention whether the language or its libraries
are suitable for multi-threaded programming.
For people who are fond of portable C programming, what's the best way
to go about multi-threaded programming?
I've been reading up on POSIX threads a little, they seem pretty
ubiquitous....

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
