Bringing up the New Virtual Directory Properties dialog

I want to bring up the "New Virtual Directory Properties dialog" from within
the IIS Virtual Directory Management for SQLXML 3.0 snap-in. To do this I'm
suppoded to expand the <COMPUTER NAME> node in the tree view to display the
"Default Web Site" item (according to the text of Roger Jenning's "Using
Microsoft Office Access 2003" p.1363). I currently have no nodes to expand. I
don't have IIS 5.1+ installed on my computer - could this be why there are no
nodes shown for the tree view? Could there be another reason for having no
nodes. I am using WindowsXP. Thank you, Edward.

I found out that what I am trying to do has to be done on a computer running
Microsoft IIS. Since I haven't yet installed IIS, This is probably my
problem. Thank you, Edward. (please forgive my spelling "supposed" "suppoded"
in my question, thanks)

In c# we have a function that creates a virtual directory in IIS 6.0 using DirectoryServices API. The code looks like this: // log in to IIS DirectoryEntry rootDir = new DirectoryEntry("IIS://localhost/W3SVC/1/Root",ADMIN_USR,ADMIN_PSWD,AuthenticationTypes.Secure); // create a child virtual directory DirectoryEntry virtualDir = rootDir.Children.Add(name, rootDir.SchemaClassName); // set the virtual directory's physical path

How can we change the property of one subdirectory of the Virtual Directory? One of the directories should be granted "Write". Should we delete this Virtual Directory to recreate it with the required property or there is some way to do that? What I see now is a poor documentation on the Internet about that. Thanks, Just D.

I didn't get a resolution to this in my earlier post, so I'll try again: System: Windows XP Pro. (SP2) with IIS installed and running PRIOR to VS 2008 Pro. installation. VS 2008 Pro. (full installation). Installations and testing is all done via an Administrator account. If I simply create a new ASP .NET Web Application Project (WAP) on my local

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
