I have a C# desktop application that I am using to connect to a web service.

Hi,

just change the property Url of your proxy class to "https://...".

Dim myWebService as New WebService
' Either do it via replace
myWebService.Ur l = myWebService.Ur l.Replace("http ://", "https://")
' or
myWebService.Ur l = "https://localhost/WebService1/Service1.asmx" ' Instead
of http://localhost/WebService1/Service1.asmx

Another way is to get the wsdl description via SSL. Then Visual Studio
creates the url with "https://".

Several people asked me for the following HOWTO, so I decided to post it here (though it is still very 'alpha' and might contain many (?) mistakes; didn't test what I wrote, but wrote it - more or less - during my own installation of Python 2.3 on Fedora Core 1 Linux for a friend of mine). Anyway, HTH, L.

When using Web Services from ASP.NET 1.1, you got a "Web References" folder in your project containing an entry for the web service references you added. The property page for this entry contained the URL to the web service and you could change this URL if you wanted to point to another web service and then you could do an "Update Web...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention.
