HOWTO change service permissions

Hi,

I wrote a win32 service that is used to control remotely my PC.
The service just starts a socket and waits for defined command.
My problem is when the service try to start a program it doesnt work
because of its rights.

et al, I've tried to find out on the 'net how to do this but can't seem to find it anywhere. How can I changed the cursors that show up in a windows application to be specific cursors that I deem? I've seen this done on some web sites, but never really looked at the code (have since lost the bookmarks to those websites). They change the default cursor in the web app and change it again when you move it over a something (ie. ...

I'm having problems with installation of a Web app on my Win 2003 server. I copy up the app configure the virtual. But when I access any ASPX pages I now get: CS0016: Could not write to output file 'd:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary ASP.NET Files\company_mywebapp\e792bb5e\ed91474e\nupdhhtj.dll' -- 'Access is denied. When using Web Services from ASP.NET 1.1, you got a "Web References" folder in your project containing an entry for the web service references you added. The property page for this entry contained the URL to the web service and you could change this URL if you wanted to point to another web service and then you could do an "Update Web Reference" to refresh the references. In ASP.NET 2.0, you get a "App_WebReferences" folder instead, but...

The application I am currently working on contains a custom windows service. On my machine, when I logon with a domain user (non-admin) account, the user is unable to control (start and stop) the service (an access denied message is displayed). On another machine, the same user is able to control this service. This leads me to believe that this is being caused by one or more permission settings (or lack of). The first question...what...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
