Hello, guys... I'm just starting to develop web applications and I have this
problem regarding Session objects
At some parts of my application, I open modal dialog window which also opens
another window to display a report. To do this, I use the values of Sessions
I initialize at the windows that called the modal dialog box. However, I
noticed that the values of my Sessions were gone when I opened the modal
dialog window ONLY when...

OK this has me perplexed, puzzled and bamboozled!
I have a remoting service which I displayed a message box in. I then
wondered what would happen if a client made a call to the service
while the message box was being displayed. Since the call comes in on
a different thread the client call was not blocked. This seemed to
make sense to me.
Next I thought, what will happen when the client calls into the server
if I try to use a delegate...

I get a Null Reference Exception if I close a non-modal dialog (that is, a
form opened with Show()) when a selection is made from a ComboBox. The error
message refers to Unsafe Native Methods, but the code is 100% managed. The
exception is not thrown if the dialog was modal (opened with ShowDialog()) or
if the selection is made from, say, a ListBox.
I have included a simple example below.
I am using C#.NET 2003, Standard Edition.

I have a frameset aspx page that enables users to upload photos. One
frame/page shows a thumbnail list of prevously-uploaded images, and the
other frame/page includes the controls that enable selecting and uploading
additional photos. After uploading a file, the list of thumbnail images
needs to get refreshed to show the newly uploaded picture. This is
accomplished by using the following code:

I have a modal dialog that currently does all of the following except item
4.
1. lets users select a graphic from a list of thumbnails (and when selected,
displays the full-size image in a preview DIV)
2. when users close the dialog, the application receives the URL to the
selected graphic.
3. the modal dialog lets the users upload a new graphic if the dialog does
not present them with one they are already happy with.
4. upon uploading...

I have got a problem while using the modal dialogs. In my code I need
to open a modal dialog from the parent page and I need to enter some
values in the dialog and save it. It takes the values properly and also
does the validation of the values but it doesn't hit the event handler
of the button where it is supposed to save those values and close the
box.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

I think the answer was here, but it's expired and I can't figure out how
to get it. In fact, I think I asked the question before!
Anyway, I have the need to show an MDI child window modally, and I know
the docs say "you can't" , but there *must* be some kind of hack, work
around or magic to make this happen. Is there?
Thanks guys!

Hi,
I have a main form, which i use to open secondary forms. From the
secondary form i need to open a Modal Window in such a way that, my
secondary form is blocked, but i can still access my main forms, and
open other secondary windows.
(An exact analogy for my problem is the Yahoo Messenger, where i can
open any number of chatwindows from the main messenger window; and
from the chat windows i can invoke the File Trasnfer option, which

I have created many shortcut/popup (aka context, or right-click) menus for my
application - instead of toolbars or standard drop-down menus.
Within my custom menu, I am using =ShowMainMenu("item") in the On Action
event where ShowMainMenu is a public function in frmMain, and "item" is a
string mapping to a button click event.
(error trapping omitted)
Public Function ShowMainMenu(strItem As String) As Boolean

Hi all,
I am working on a windows based client server application with
multiple forms. All forms are having custom title bars with no default
bars. There is one main form. Some forms are opened up as modal while
others are opened up as modeless on this main form.
Whenever some error occurs in client server communication we show it
in modal message box.
Now I ran into a case: a modal form is opened up on the main form.
And some error...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
