I am using Microsoft visual c++ 6, and I want to draw a shape (say a
rectangle) on a view. The code that I have used is below, but this draws a
solid -filled rectangle, what I want is a displayed shape with a
semi-transparent color i.e. we should still be able to see whatever is
beneath the shape. Can anyone help me? Thanks.
void OnPaint()
{
CPaintDC dc(this);
CPen pPen(PS_SOLID, 1, RGB(0,0,0));

Hi All,
I am sure this is a simple question, but how do I draw a
line onto a windows form in VB.NET, or any shape for that
matter. VB6 had a line and shape control that you could
use.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi there,
I have created an owner draw menu item using DrawItem and MeasureItem in
VB.NET. This seems to work well. I was wondering how I can do mouse over
effects in these menus. Basically the same as the dot net menus where they
get highlighted when the mouse moves over them.
Does anyone have any VB dot net examples or suggestions on how I could do
this?

Hi there. I have written a small procedure to draw various shapes on
things. A bit of it is shown below.
Private Sub drawShape(ByVal shapeType As Integer, ByRef g As Graphics)
Select Case shapeType
Case 1 : g.DrawRectangle(New Pen(Color.Black), 0, 0, 50, 10)
Case 2 'draw a circle
Case 3 'draw a triangle
Case 4 'draw other shape
Case 5 'draw other shape

Hi
I am trying to draw a pie like shape on a form in the paint event. I am
then trying to draw a line running down the center of the pie. The code I
have attached at the bottom of this post does just this but there is
something wrong somewhere as when I resize the form, the line does not stay
over the center of the pie as expected.
I should imagine its just a case of something round the wrong way but I just
can't find what could be...

Hi, All
Greetings!
I want to develop as appllication that requires a line-drawing function
in the blank area between two forms. I have looked up the MSDN, it says that
a graphics object need a reference to a control or a form. I guess it means
that lines can't be draw on blank area between two forms. Can anybody
guarantee this for me? Is there any method can realize this function? I
mainly want to draw a line from a button in form1 to...

How to draw a shape from one panel to an other in GDI+??
I want to draw a curve, where the beginning point is in the form and the end point is in a panel. By default the curve is drawn below the panel, so I cant see a part of the curve which goes though the panel. I want to see the whole curve.
Any help?
Thanx in advance.

Hi Moondaddy,
I downloaded your sample project and run it and did see the problem on my
side.
There're three problems in the source code of your project.
1. You should move the following lines of code from the GetGeometry method
within the CustomPolyLine class:
_points.Add(new Point(10, 10));

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
