Web Browser Control (Winform App) and Java Applers

Hi

I'm hosting a web browser control (WBC) on a form in a vb.net winform
application.

When accessing an asp.net application that contains a signed applet from IE,
a java notification icon appears in the system tray and a popup appears
asking to accept certificates etc...

However, the same behaviour does not occur when accessing with the WBC.

A colleague of mine tryed this on his machine at home, but there it worked?

What's going on here? Do I somehow need to kick off this process myself?
Please help!

Hi

I've determined that the actual problem is that applets do not seem to want
to load at all! I've tried this with a simple applet and nothing happens,
almost like the JVM doesn't load.

The exact same thing does work on a my home machine.

I've been very unsuccessfully trying to get help from microsoft over the
phone.

The phone operator continously tells me that its "by design"... Yet he
cannot explain the inconsistent behaviour? What kind of design is this
(except for maybe a very bad one)

I've seen a number of articles on the net refering to the hosting of applets
in a web browser, so this response is both highly annoying and very
frustrating.

Please help!!!!

Hello, I've created a winform user control that, at some point in the default constructor, looks for a specifc file. When I try to load the user control to my winform's form during design time it gives an error saying that the file doesn't exist. Obviously the file doesnt exist yet because its only created at runtime!!

Ok, so here's a problem you probably don't see every day: We are building an application that must run in a browser, but we need to do some things client-side that would be rather difficult to pull off with the usual browser-side scripting (javascript etc). It's been decided that this one, complicated function will be implemented by hosting a Winform in the browser. Now, this winform contains an ActiveX control (an HTML editor).

Hi! 1. I am using asp.net 2.0 for my application and was wondering is there a way we can hide address bar, menu bar, Links and Standard Buttons of the browser without opening a new window. i.e. nothing should be displayed on the browser except the application content. 2. Actually, we have accomplished this by opening a new window and setting

I have a .Net 1.1 application which is downloaded into an aspx page. It is a dll which inherits from System.Windows.Forms.UserControl. It works fine on a PC with only the 1.1 Framework. However, the control will not load on a PC with the 2.0 Framework installed. I know that IE will use the newest framework so I assume it is a security issue. At the assembly level I apply the following attributes;

I would like to host a web browser component in a Winform. I have two questions: 1). Is it possible to run an applet (if the URL pointed to has an applet in it)? 2). Is it possible to change a property (for example) of the web browser, so that it does not display the address (i.e. the URL that the page was loaded from)?

Hello all, We have a form that contains browser control on it. Into that control we load some java applet that acts as an image viewer. On the form load we load the list of documents each with it's own URL that is pointing to the doc location. When you click on the item in the list it loads the document from the url that this item points to. Problem is that when java applet loads the first time it takes forever.

I have a C# app with an AxWebBrowser control. I have a local HTML file that I'm using. That html has a java applet that it runs that needs to access files locally, but I'm getting access denied errors. How can I give the java applet access to those files? I assume it's some sort of IE security issue but I can't figure out how to grant the permissions. Thanks.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
