Server Explorer Problems

Hello everyone.

I have encounted a problem with VS Server explorer.
I have opened 2 ODBC connections, thats works fine with the server
that is in my lan network, accessing two databases and update, insert
select from both.

But, when I switch those ODBC connections to remote server accessing
via lan modem , I can open both databeses , but one database is read
only , that means that I cannnot edit update insert.

I speaking about Informix Database Server v.9.3
Does someone know about this, is this a database problem , probably
when creating the database something is configured wrong , or
something is wrong with my odbc connection

I want to get an ASP.Net hosting account with my ISP, and I'm trying to find out what level of access to the server is requried in order for me to view the server in Server Explorer in Visual Studio .Net, where you can see the available database, expand it to get a list of tables, etc. What level of access is required? Of course you need to have an account with the right user rights, but is there some specific service that needs to be...

I've just bought a new Windows Server 2003 and I am trying to move an exiting FrontPage website to this new machine. I can't get ASP pages to run. IIS 6.0 has been installed. From the snap-in, I have configured "Web Services Extensions" to allow CGI Extensions, ISAPI Extensions, Active Server Pages, FrontPage Server Extensions 2002, Internet Data Connector, Server Side Includes and WebDAV. All of this appears to be running fine.

I am encountering the following problem: when not connected to the Interne I cannot add my own computer (i.e., localhost) as a server to VS.Net's server explorer. Instead a dialog box pops up which reads 'The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found.' (this corresponds to the winsoc error code WSANO_DATA). However, when connected to the Internet, I ca add my own computer as a server to server explorer. My...

1. I am using sql server express and visual studio 2003. I have been able to create the connection to the database in server explorer but cannot update table definitions. It gives an error that I may need a patch or changes would not be saved. So I have to do the table changes in SQL Express Management studio. 2. When I modify a stored procedure in the management studio of sql express, it does not update but rather saves it the...

Hi, I've been having problems with the validation controls not working on my deployment server. Initially it was a security issue with the anonymous account not having permissions to access /aspnet_client/system_web/1_1_4322/WebUIValidation.js but I think I've now fixed this. What is happening now is I'm not getting a security issue but the validation is not occuring, the page submits without validation. When

An unusual spin to this recurring disk or network error in a Terminal Server environment. Access 2000, Terminal Server 2000, file server is windows 2000. All users have a separate copy of the front end db, everyone accesses the back-end db via a network share. To preface, non Terminal Server users (4 or 5 in office) never have this problem. There are two Terminal Servers running win 2000, both basically identical. This error affects...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
