Is there any need for "System.Collections.Queue" any more? OK, .Net
made the mistake to start without generics, but that is fixed now.
Languages without support for generics could use
"System.Collections.Generics.Queue<Object>" instead of
"System.Collections.Queue". So everytime those languages use a
generic, they just use them with <object>.
I don't think having two different sets of collections is a good idea.

Hi all,
I'm having some trouble with a linked list function and was wondering if
anyone could shed any light on it. Basically I have a singly-linked list
which stores pid numbers of a process's children - when a child is fork()ed
its pid is added to the linked list. I then have a SIGCHLD handler which is
supposed to remove the pid from the list when a child exits. The problem I'm
having is that very very occasionally and seemingly...

I have this class that provides a disk-based queue for storing various
items. As items are queued the event delegate is called and the consumer
dequeues the object and processes it. This seems to work off and on.
Sometimes the queue does not pick up a queued item until another item is
queued. Can anyone see a problem with this class?

Hi,
Does System.Collections.Generic.Queue not have a Synchronized
method because it is already in effect synchronized, or is the
Synchronized functionality missing from
System.Collections.Generic.Queue? Putting it another way can I
safely replace a
System.Collections.Queue.Synchronized(myUnSynchronizedQueue) with a
System.Collections.Generic.Queue while porting a working 2003 project?
Thanks,

I am relatively new to XML and C#. So, forgive me if this question is
too newbie. :-)
While assuming this is an easy programming task, I couldn't find a
single reference anywhere for how to do it. Here is the situation:
I am given an XML file like the one below from other group in my
company to load the data into our database.

correct email (connects to the remote mailserver and checks the
response).
I would like to improve the performance with using multiple threads.

For starting i have all emailaddresses in a Array.

I'm not sure if I've just lost it but, I no longer see the property SyncRoot
on a Queue. I see that it's a member of the ICollection Base Object, but it's
not exposed.
Was this intended? Besides writing a wrapper class for Queue, what is the
intended way to lock the queue to enforce proper synchronization?

Thanks to those guys who helped me out yesterday. I have one more
problem; my print function for the queue program doesnt work and goes
into an endless loop. Also I am unable to calculate the length of my
queue. I started getting compilation errors when I included a length
function.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
