Shadow of Closed form

Hi,
My application is using VS2003 , VB.Net with Sql server 2000. The
application has an MDI environment with several MDI child forms in the main
MDI form. I use Devexpress Grids ( a third party control) on all the forms.
At times , just at times due to dont know why, when i close one of
the child forms it closes down but leaves a shadow of itself on the MDI form
..
I have the menu options for selecting other forms up in the top part of the
MDI form. Only this part does not have the shadow of the closed child form,
might be because the closed child form was not overlapping the menuoptions.
Now with my application running and having a shadow of the previously closed
form when i go to any other application on my machine and then go back to the
VB.Net application, it now has the shadow of the other application. this is a
very strange behavior and i dont know why it is happening. Can any body give
me any hints or clue to this, i am pretty sure many of you out there have had
this problem.
thanks in Advance.
Please help!
Sameer

I'm designing an application framework which will, amongst other things, live in an assembly hosted in the ASP.NET worker process, servicing webservice requests. Here's the scenario: APPFX is our application framework assembly. It has no life of its own - it's designed to provide components that are glued together by another, main...

I am using the CompileAssemblyFromSource method of an ICodeCompiler instance to dynamically compile an assembly used by a Web Application. The assembly may be recompiled any number of times during a day as a user changes the underlying code. Each time the assembly is compiled it's version is updated e.g. from 1.0.0.1 to 1.0.0.2 and so on. ...

Hi, I have a panel on my form, and I would like to add a shadow around that panel, just like Xp as around the menus etc. I tried drawing it with the lineargradientbrush, but it doesn't look very nice. So my question is: How can I make a nice shadow effect on a panel? Thanks for your time :)

I have an application which loads plugin DLLs from various directories on the local disk. To avoid problems with the DLLs being locked by IIS, I have modified my code so that it copies the DLLs to the /bin/ directory if it determines that they are newer than the version already there, and loads the copy. This then takes advantage of Shadow...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
