I'm using Chris Lovett's SgmlReader class
SgmlReader sr = new SgmlReader();
XmlDocument xdoc = new XmlDocument();
sr.DocType = "HTML";
sr.InputStream = new System.IO.StringReader(node.InnerText);
xdoc.Load(sr);

I have created an XmlDocument and can see that this is correctly formed and has a root element
If I Save the doc to a file and reload it all works o
If I dump the doc to a stream, again using the Save method, and write this to a file I can then reload this correctly.
However since I have no need to write the data to file I want to save it as a stream then reload it the stream.
However If I do this I have suddenly lost the root element

If someone could just explain this to me...I just don't get it!
I have an aspx page where I retrieve several session variables and use
xmlDocument to transform xml file with xsl file into an instruction
document (not data based) - same as using an xml web control.
The resulting html is on the client? but what about the server side of
things? Trying to figure out how to change and save the xmlDocument.
It I put a button OUTSIDE of the...

Can you load an XmlDocument with a file located on a network share? I thought maybe the XmlResolver could be used
XmlUrlResolver resolver = new XmlUrlResolver()
resolver.Credentials = CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials
// Create and load the XmlDocument
XmlDocument doc = new XmlDocument()
doc.XmlResolver = resolver; // Set the resolver
doc.Load(@"\\devsrv\profiles\0004.xml")
OR..

I'm running a VB.net exe which reads a xml document via a URL using the
XmlDocument Load method under framework 1.1. It runs correctly via a
scheduled task running as user admin who is a member of the administrators
group. However if I change the scheduled task to run as another user who is
also a member of the administrators group it fails on the xml load with
"The underlying connection was closed: Unable to connect to the remote...

Hello,
I'm calling a webmethod from a webservice written in java.
I need to pass an xml file as parameter to the webmethod.
I therefore use System.Xml.XmlDocument to load the xml file.
The call works when i construct a string representation of the content of
the xml and then, use the "loadxml" method to of Xml.XmlDocument .
But it fails when i load the file directly into and System.Xml.XmlDocument

I have a solution consisting of a c# project as win application and a c++
project as classlibrary. Both are .net 2.0
The classlibrary handles some loading of quicktime movies, but that should
not be relevant.
On my development machine I build the exe and dll and run the exe which has
a reference to the dll. At some point it uses featured in the dll.
This works fine.
Then I copy my exe and dll to the target system and when the featured...

Hi...
We've got a lot of places in our code where we read relatively small xml
user preference blocks. Currently that's creating a new XmlDocument in every
spot. I was thinking we might see some speed improvements by having one,
central XmlDocument and using doc.ReadNode() to process all of the fragments.
Other than pumping up the NameTable with a mish-mash of different node names
and namespaces, are there any other implications I'm...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
