Hi all,
This has go to be the absolute biggest annoyance with Visual Studio .NET.
Every time I do a build, the class view tree collapses and I need to expand
each node again to get to the class methods where I was working. I know I can
use Synchronize Class View from the context menu but that still requires me
to tab through each file and do it; and that's provided I haven't already
closed the file. I should be getting to the code...

I am new to C# and VS.Net. How do I test inidividual classes? I'm used to Java where a Main method for every class to test it. However, VS sees each Main method as an entry point into the .exe. What is the standard procedure for debugging individual classes

I am working in an environment with 4 developers. 2 groups of 2 people
working on the same server on the same web project with no version control
management on the web server.
Programmers A & B servername/project1
Programmers C & D servername/project2
All programmers have solutions that have their respective web projects,
accessed over file share. Programmers A & B so far are fine. Programmers C &
D have a problem.

Hello,
when creating a user control with Visual Basic .NET (v2.0), I get the error:
"Visual Studio requires that designers use the first class the the file."
when I try it view it in Design mode. There is only one class in the file,
the user control.
The first line is "Namespace MyStuff". When I remove this line, all is well
and I can view the control in Design mode.

I'm getting the following error when I build a Class Library project:
Embedding manifest...
Project : error PRJ0002 : Error result 1 returned from
'C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe'.
It happens with every the of C++ project I try to build. Not just Class
Libraries, but a plain Windows Form Application as well.
I've tried creating new projects with nothing but shell built by the Wizard,
but I still get the error.

Hi all,
I got tortured by a very weird problem when I was using k. wilder's
random generator class in my program. PS: wilder's generator class can
be found at http://oldmill.uchicago.edu/~wilder/Code/random/.
Firstly, I got the notorious "fatal error C1010: unexpected end of file
while looking for precompiled header directive" error when I tried to
compile 'randtest.c' provided by wilder.

I'm building a Web application but this question should be common to all C#
applications.
When I use a class, and I want to add event handlers or override base class
methods, how do I know the correct syntax for those methods?
In MFC, I can simply choose event handlers from a list and they are inserted
automatically with the correct signature. Similar deal with Visual Basic 6.
But I can't seem to find anything like this in C#.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
