Hello,
I've been reading up on security in Java Applets and whilst I understand
the concept, I can't successfully get my applet to read a file on my local
machine.
I discovered from http://java.sun.com/sfaq/#read:
-----
Sun's appletviewer allows applets to read files that are named on the access
control list for reading. The access control...

Hello,
is there a way to launch the property dialogue for a directory from my c#

I would also like to launch the User Account Properties from Active

Thanks for any hints.

Is there any other solution for an ASPNET application to access
network resources other than running as SYSTEM, using delegation (a
nightmare to get to work) or the COM+ solution? I cannot seem to impersonate
a user and obtain network credentials using the DuplicateTokenEx call with
appropriate parameters even though the call seems to not...

Hi.
I've tried to save, move files from asp.net (using the FileInfo object). It
works fine locally, but I can't make it work on network drives. I have
granted the aspnet user all required permissions, but still with no luck.
Should I tweak something else (policy or app setting)?
Can I access a NAS box running Storage Server 2003 as an...

Hi,
I need to programmaticaly create and configure a new virtual directory on
IIS6.0. The virtual directory path is a network share. Therefore, I need to
set up this network's Security Credentials (User name and Password).
Which metabase properties correspond to these parameters?
Thanks,

I have a problem with cache headers which I cannot track down. We are running
IIS6 on Windows Server 2003 and ASP.NET 2.0.
Our application has an installer which sets up our caching options in the
metabase - specifically it sets HttpExpires="D, 0" and
CacheControlCustom="no-cache" on the directory containing our web forms. In
IIS manager...

I have a fairly simple C# console app which copies files from a network
folder to a local folder. When the app resides on my local C: drive, it
runs just fine. However, when the app resides on a network drive, copying
the same files from the same source drive and to the same destination drive,
it gives me the following exception:

We have an ASP.NET 2.0 web application running on a Windows 2003 domain
controller. Part of that application needs to read and write files from and
to a network share ( living on a MAC Xserveraid) on the same network segment.
I mapped a drive on the server to that share. When mapping the drive, I
could enter access credentials for the shares...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
