Hello all, One area where the .Net framework 1.1 is really poor is Collections : We've got very few choice concerning the containers and their characteristics (for example, ArrayList, Queue and Stack are the only "non-dictionary" avalaible containers, and only Stack has some complexity specifications). The worst thing however is the IEnumerator interface, which doesn't allow for insertion, deletion or even *modification* of an item...

Hi Everyone! I hope someone may have experience serializing a NameObjectCollectionBase (System.Collections.Specialized) and can advise me as to why I receive this error (below) when I try to serialize my instance: System.InvalidOperationException: You must implement a default accessor on System.Collections.Specialized.NameObjectCollectionBase because it inherits from ICollection.

Hi there, 1) I am looking for the best collections techniques to be used in my program. Is hashtable or arraylist or any .net collection, which is the fastest when adding, getting out data??? 2) And also, just curious, Hashtable.Add (key, value), can i somehow make the hashtable to have this Add(key, value1, value2).

I just recently started getting the above error on a page I am posting MULTIPART/FORM-DATA. We have SoftArtisans FileUp component and Filter installed on the server in question and up until a day or so ago everything was working fine. I honestly can't remember changing anything since it was last working. But I tried reinstalling the .Net Framework along w/ the service pack, which didn't work. I also had v1.1 already installed but I hadn't...

If I am not wrong, System.IO is one of the seven namespaces that get imported in all ASP.NET page automatically but in the following code: <%@ Import Namespace="System.IO" %> <script runat="server"> Sub Page_Load(ByVal obj As Object, ByVal ea As EventArgs) Dim ioFileInfo As New FileInfo("C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\File1.asp") lblOutput.Text = "Name: " & ioFileInfo.Name & "<br>" lblOutput.Text += "Path: " & ioFileInfo.DirectoryName & "<br>"

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
