Hi,
I have a page in which I've added code to the Page_Load event.
I send the url to a user in an email, and they click on it to activate an
account.
I put a breakpoint on the first execuable line of code in the page load
event.
The breakpoint works fine when linked to from another page on the site, and
works fine when the page is set as the startup page for the project.
However, if the url is entered into the address bar of the browser window
that was opened by the debug process, it doesn't fire the page load event.
How is this so, and how can I get around it?
I'm using VB in my codebehind.
Thanks

I have two forms, a menu and a data entry form. The entry form is bound
to a query against linked SQL server tables. In the deactivate event, I
have some code which asks the user if they want to save their changes and
they can respond with yes, no or cancel. If they press cancel, the entry
form stays active with the changes still entered.
So, if I'm on the entry form and have entered data, and then click on the
menu, the deactivate event...

I'm fairly new to ASP.NET, and am trying out the Online Newsletter
Manager project in Wrox's Beginning C#. The pages are supposed to bind
various controls (dropdown lists, datagrids) when the pages load,
through code in the Page_Load event.
However, it never works the first time the page loads. As far as I can
see, the Page_Load event doesn't fire, and if I set a break point, the
compiler says it won't be hit. It does work, however, when...

I've been fighting with the Page_Load event firing twice.
I looked through this user group and saw several other people having
similar problems.
There were various reasons for it:
AutoEventWireup="true" instead of AutoEventWireup="false"
Spyware software
And having your events all wired wrong
I had done everything to my machine, stripped it down to just have
..NET on it and I was still having this problem until...

Hello all,
I have a asp.net page that creates a pdf on the fly and sends the pdf
down to the browser. When calling the page up in IE the Page_Load event is
fried twice. This doesn't happen with mozilla, just IE. This is a big
problem because the PDF can be 20+ MB in size and is causing some serious
performance issues. Writing the PDF to the filesystem then a redirect is
not an option. I was wondering if anybody has any input on how...

Hi,

I generate my tree and link button on fly, and associate event with button. Tree is in my top panel. Detail information of each node is in my bottom panel....

Just wondering what could cause this: I have observed that when first
opening an aspx page, the Page_Load event fires as expected. Then I go to
other pages in the site. When returning to any page that has been previously
viewed, the Page_Load event does not fire (or at least the Page_Load event
procedure is not executed). FWIW: PostBacks are working fine (meaning that
the Page_Load event procedure executes on PostBacks). The problem is just...

Hi all,
I'm experiencing a rather strange problem:
I am coding a web application using VB.net ASP.net and Visual Studio
2003.
It's quite a large application, but the problem only occurs on one of
the Web User Controls.
This particular Web User Control has some text entry fields in it,

Hello,
This has probably been asked several times, but It must be clarified for me.
I would like to know why sometimes during a postback Page_Load is called
after the function marked for postback.
Here's the deal : From now on, I set CurrentThread.CurrentCulture only
during PageLoad. so date and currency format is incorrect if page load is
not called first.
What should I do to ensure that CurrentThread.CurrentCulture is alway set...

What is the difference between the Page_Init and Page_Load events? When I
was debugging my code, they both seemed to get triggered on every postback.
I am assuming that there is some difference, and I would like to know what
it is so that I can take advantage of it in my code. Thanks.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
