Reflection question: how to get event handler signature?

Hi Everyone,

I can use .Net Reflection to know there is an event defined in a class. But I don't know how to get the signature of that event handler? Any idea?

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi, I have a class which has a lot of events (>100). For some reasons, I have to go through all invocation lists to do something. What I'm wondering is that, is there any way to use reflection to get their InvocationList without going through each event? // tedious foreach (Delegate handler in Event1.GetInvocationList()) {...} foreach (Delegate handler in Event2.GetInvocationList()) {...}

The canonical way of declaring delegates for events is to include a parameter representing the sender as well as an EventArgs derived class (or EventArgs itself) as the second parameter representing the data that accompanies the event. For example: public delegate void MessageReceivedHandler(object sender, MessageReceivedArgs e); // ...

Hi, I am using VC++.Net 2003 with WinForms to write a serial port application. I downloaded the newest VC++ examples from MSDN and found a project called Using the COM Port. In it, there is a class called Rs232. It has three lines of code: // These events allow the program using this class to react to Comm Port events.

I have a library I'm using that has a lapsed listener issue. I figured I'd just sneak in and do the unsubscription myself since I don't expect it to be fixed any time soon. So, I have the control whose event its subscribed to and it's subscribed to the VisibleChanged event and has an event handler called ControlVisibleChanged. So basically, what I want to do is:

The .NET Framework provides us with built-in event handlers: System.EventHandler and the generic System.EventArgs<TEventArgs> It appears that those built-in event handler delegates are just a convenience for us, as we can use those instead of creating a new delegate for every event that we implement. Question: Is it good to use those built-in event handlers as a matter of

Hi, Can someone please explain to me something about delegates? My understanding is as follows. A delegate is basically an object that can hold a reference to a "method" somewhere. That is, it's essentially a pointer to a piece of code somewhere else in memory. It therefore (to me anyway) makes sense to define delegates with their signatures and be able to use those signatures at different points in

I'm a bit boggled by this since I am rather new to using reflection. I want to attach an event handler via Reflection (which I can do), but I want to NOT have to know the exact event delegate signature. For an exmaple, I have a .DLL with the following: public delegate CustomEnum CustomEventHandler(Socket s, CustomClass c); public class myclass { public event CustomEventHandler MyEvent; //...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
