How does the DataView.Sort method really work under the covers?
I know that it sorts a dataview, but what kind of sorting algorhythm is
actually used?
Thanks.

Hello
I have created a Dataview and have sorted it on the Date and ShiftNumber
columns
this works great, but when I want to use the Find Method it gives me the
following error:
Expecting 2 value(s) for the key being indexed, but received 1 value(s).
I have tried the following:
Dim Names(1) as Object

i've created a search function, using vc#, and i'm using the dataview.find()
method to get the index of the found record. the problem is that there are
many similar names. it always returns the same index, but it can be any one
of the items. as an example, if i type in the work "bolt" it will return the
index 1201, the first "bolt" is at 1120 and the last one is at 1294. it is
for a point of sale program and i have no control over the...

Hi,
I have been working on Sorting within a Datagrid that is created
programmatically, so everything is created in the code-behind.
I have a Template Column that consists of a Header Template. The
Header Template consists of LinkButtons, so when triggered it will fire
an event calling the following function:
e.CommandName - contains "Sort1", "Sort2", etc.

I am having trouble sorting a datagrid. I have read numerous posts on
this and other lists, and tried most of the suggestions, but none of
them have worked for me yet. I populate a dataset from two queries,
then I want to sort the data and bind it to a datagrid. Regardless of
what I have tried, the datagrid is populated with the unsorted data.
Any assistance you have would be appreciated.
I have attempted the sort using the dataview.sort...

Hi
I desperately need some help. I want to have a DataView sorted
alphabetically by a specific column, then I want to find the first record
that begins with the letter the user inputs and get that record number. I
don't however want a filter as the user must still be able to scroll up and
down the DataView.
Thanks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
I need to know how to format Integer and Real with the datagrid.
In fact, I want to use the right alignment.
When I use this option the header text comes with the right alignment too.
:(
Another question with datagrid, is there a way to have "blank lines".
I mean I would like to have (n) lines displayed even if they are empty (like
an excel page).
Just for the design.

I need to return a DataRow or the Row Index in a DataSet wherein the
value I am attempting to find is not a primary key.
I have to do this often, more than 200 times when importing a file so
it needs to be fast.
Could I use a Dataview to filter for the value (which is unique) and
return either the DataRow object so I can modify it and put it back
into the DataSet the view is based on or somehow get the RowIndex in
the DataSet that the...

I have a code that returns data in IList. My webGrid doesn't allow me to
sort with IList returned, it say it only suports DataView, DataTable and
DataSet, not IEnumerable. I don't know how to return the DataSet type when
using the following code:
======== this is my interface ======================
namespace WareHouse.DataLayer.DataObjects
{
/// <summary>
/// Defines methods to access categories and products.

Hi All,
I am using .net framework 1.1 and c#. I have one problem regarding dataview.
I have one dataview to which sorting may be applied or may not be applied. I have one UI component where I am displaying the dataview. All rows in dataview are displayed in the sequence as they appear in dataview. i.e. there is direct mapping between dataview rows and UI rows.
I have subscribed ColumnChanged event of the datatable on which dataview is...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
