Conferences for developers

Hello.

What are the conferences for .NET developers in United States and
Canada? There is Tech Ed 2004 to be held late next month in San Diego.
Any others? They don't necessarily have to be organized by MS.

Of those mentioned, which would you say are ones that are not to be
missed?

Thanks.

The MS conferences are usually really good. Any time Don Box is speaking, go
and watch; entertaining and a good look under the hood in most of his talks.

TechEd was great last year. PDC, later in the year, is also worthwhile. The
DevConnections conference(s) are also a good source of information
(http://www.devconnections.com/). This year, it may be a bit early for
anything astounding

WinDev should also be interesting this year: http://butrain.bu.edu/windev/

Aside from the ones Greg mentioned, DevDays tends to be interesting because
it's regional so the people who speak are usually folks you tend to know
from UGs and so on.

In addition to Tech Ed, which are usually pretty good, you can look for a MS PDC (professional developers conference) and provides good "bang for your buck" as these conferences are where MS releases its "emerging technologies". Last year we saw and recieved "technology previews" (read here: ALPHA's) of Longhorn, Yukon, and Whidbey. This is the best conference for hearing from the actual developer's at Microsoft.

Another great set of events is VSLlive, sponsored by Fawcette Technical Publications. They hold several of these every year across the country. You can find out more at: http://www.ftponline.com/conferences/ I have attended a few of these and they have a great slate of speakers on a wide range of topics

Thanks for the list.

TechEd
PDC
DevConnections
WinDev
DevDays
VSLlive

Of these, which one would you recommend if one could go to only one
during the year?

I'm an intermediate .NET developer, mainly web apps, if that makes
any difference. Conference fee and location are not important concerns
to getting useful information. By useful, I mean that which would help
me to do my job better back at the office primarily, secondarily that
which provides insight into the industry partcularly in the MS camp
and where it's going.

My web search for future Python-related conferences has turned up nothing. I see plenty about previous conferences, but nothing for the future. Can anyone point me toward some list of conferences? I'm looking for Python, possibly Zope, possibly Plone, and even other modern web and system development topics. Thanks, Michael

In 2001 I attended the Python conference in Long Beach, CA. I had just decided that Python was something I should use and the conference provided me a (well-fitted) brainful of good insight. http://lairds.org/Kyler/photos/disk0019/img_0421.jpg/image_viewer Now I use Python constantly. I'd like to get face-to-face with Python experts so that I can better understand complex pieces and discover new tools. I want to attend another...

I would like to attend a conference/seminar/educational presentation on SQL Server. I don't know what types of qualifications to use in evaluating these types of events, nor do I really even know how to discover where they are held. I'm not sure what my companies budget is, but I am relatively sure that they won't be sending me far outside of the Washington, DC area for the event. Does anyone have any suggestions on locations in that...

Can anyone tell me what the big Web developers' conference is? Seems every trade has its big, annual event, but I don't believe I know which one Web designers attend. I'm interested in a wide variety of topics: graphic design, Web standards, CSS, PHP/MySQL, etc. Additionally, does anyone have opinions on the Web Design World conference (http://www.ftponline.com/conferences/webdesignworld/) produced by FTP?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
