retrieve root namespace

Is there a way to retrieve the root namespace during runtime? I'm trying to
generalize a function and
System.Reflecti on.Assembly.Get ExecutingAssemb ly.GetManifestR esourceStream()
method requires the full namespace path for embedded resources.

In the project properties, under the General settings the last textbox says
"Root Namespace". I want to be able to get this value during runtime.

What exactly do you mean by "the root namespace"?

I am having a problem deserializing XML when the root node is missing a namespace declaration. My Type has an XmlTypeAttribute with a namespace defined. If I attempt to deserialize the XML, I get the dreaded <elementname xmlns=''> was not expected exception. If I comment out the XmlTypeAttribute, it works just fine. Just so you know, when I instantiate an instance of an XmlSerializer, I pass a default namespace to the ctor. ...

Should the Root Namespace be something like Microsoft. Or maybe Microsoft.MyControl I think the root applies only to things defined in the project. Nothing to do with namespaces referenced in the project. Is that correct?

Hi, I find that while I can use the "Namespace...End Namespace" inside my code, there is also a "Root namespace" field in the project properties dialog box under General. So where should I put my REAL root namespace, or should I leave it blank, or should I create any at all? Please advice. Thanks in advance. CCJohn

Hi, I suspect that this isn't possible, but I figured I'd ask. My project has a root namespace, let's say it's "Root", that applies to almost every source file (which is why I've set it as the project's root namespace). However, the project also includes a couple of source files whose contents will live in an entirely different namespace, let's say the "Special"

Hi all, I created an XSD to define the structure of an XML file for my project. I made an XML file linked to the XSD using XmlSpy. The problem is that if I read the file using .NET XmlDocument and then query for the root element, the result is always null (1). However if I strip the root element of all attributes generated by XmlSpy, then there is no problem to find the root element with .NET XML classes (2). (1) The XML for which...

Hi, We have a number of projects that will use the default 'Root Namespace' option in the project properties box. There will be a common Master Page that will be used among the projects. I'd like to be able to use the master page without including the root namespace in the masterpage Page declaration. In the example below, 'TESTApp' is the default Root namespace (the name of the project) <%@ Page Language="vb"

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
