Are any of the "Applicatio n Blocks" related to AOP?

I have only a cursory knowledge of Microsoft's Application Blocks, which
seem like they might be pretty cool. I'm wondering if any of these (such as
the Exception Handling Application Block) can be considered related to
Aspect Orientated Programming (AOP)?

Hello, this is a repost of a previous post of mine from today. I need to export multiple documents (doc, xls, ppt, jpg) and crystal reports to a single PDF file. I know how to export a single Crystal Report to PDF and it works quite nicely using the Response.ContentType = "application/pdf". However, the users have an option to include other documents/reports in their report that are associated with the report. For example: User previews a...

I'm using the Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel" in my web application to export data into a spreadsheet. That works fine and all. My question is: When I export the data and go and view the spreadsheet - there are no grid lines. They all disappeared so it's like my data is on one giant white slab of nothing. I can read the data and see how each piece is in it's own cell - but no gridlines. Is there anything else I can...

Hi! Okay, so positions on "text/html" XHTML are totally contradicting. Anyway! I hope there's more consensus about "application/xml" XHTML. I've recently learned that Opera 9.0b2 does not only evaluate HTTP header, BOM and XML declaration to determine the character encoding of an XHTML document sent as "application/xml", but also the "meta" element. For example, <http://schneegans.de/sv/test-cases/?case=meta-only-encoding> is rendered...

Greetings, group. I just found a weird problem in a program where a variable declared in a {block} after a "case" keyword was being treated as having value 0 even though its actual value should have been something else. An extremely stripped-down version: int Function (int something) { switch(something) { case WHATEVER:

Hi Everyone, I've been trying to get two blocks of text to be aligned, one left, one right, on the same line. What I'm trying to mimic is what I did with tables here: http://www.workmenforChrist.org (under the "Site Map" link) I tried floating the blocks with the code: /*Right box on the index page*/

Ok, extremely wierd situation here: (I'll post the code below, after the explanation) I've got a Windows application (.NET 3.5) that has a single Form with a DataGridView embedded. The user presses a button to do a SQL query (fill a DataSet). Before firing the query, I disable the grid/buttons and turn on UseWaitCursor. After it completes, I re-enable the grid/ buttons, refresh the dataset, then turn off the UseWaitCursor. If I...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
