Hi,
We have a multiple-project solution in VS.NET 2003, including a single web
service. A couple of projects in the solution have references to this web
service and everything was working OK until we added some methods and changed
the signatures for some existing methods on the service. We changed the
version number of the service assembly to reflect the update.
We did an update on the existing references within Visual Studio, which
seemed to be fine. However, the references are periodically reverting to
using the _old_ WSDL, which is just bizarre. We've tried deleting and then
recreating the references, including any hidden files, even going as far as
to remove the files from SourceSafe, but the issue remains. Doing a rebuild
on the Web Service project, then updating the reference seems to work most of
the time, but closing Visual Studio, then opening it again can reset the
references back to the old version.
This is currently happening on two separate machines, one Windows 2000, one
XP and it has us stumped. Has anyone encountered anything like this before?
Many thanks,

I figured out what was causing the "Access is Denied" error when
calling functions from referenced DLLs in my service. I've tried to
be very detailed, so bear with me.
It turns out that libraries I made myself were not having this
problem, but it only happened with a zip library I downloaded and
copied into my program's directory. When using classes from this
library, my service threw an "Access Is Denied" FileLoadException,
which...

I am creating a windows service and have added a reference to a DLL project
that I have created. That DLL file is correctly referenced in both a
windows app and a web app, all in the same solution, so I thought I could do
the same for a service project. However, after successfully adding the
reference and making sure the namespaces were correct, I cannot see any of
my public methods and functions from the DLL file.
Is there anything...

OK, I'll admit it up front - I just don't get it.
Here's our previous VS2003 development model. Developers develop the WS
solution on their own workstations, using their own IIS web servers mapped
to the local devleopment folder. Project compiles to a subfolder .\bin. To
deploy, the asmx page and bin subfolder are copied to the production server.
So now I upgrade to VS2005. OK, so except for the name, everything is
changed. No more...

Back some time ago I was playing with a little app in VB 2005 that used
a google web service to get search results. I was rebuilding this app
in 2008 today. I added the web service
http://api.google.com/googlesearch.wsdl and then down in the code I was
typing Dim myGoogle As New Google.GoogleSearchService only to find
GoogleSearchService was no longer a method. I looked on google for
documentation and it appears they no longer offer...

Hi,
I've been trying like a madman to make my WSDL work with .net, but it
seems I am out of luck. Whenever I add a service reference to Visual
C#, the code gets generated fine, however all operations miss their
parameters, which is very weird. I have stripped down the WSDL to an
example of a singe simple function. Before I post all the WSDL, here
is what I tried. I loaded the WSDL using the "add service reference"
function. I got code...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
