Hi,
the arguments in the previous thread were convincing enough, so I made the
Path class inherit from str/unicode again.
It still can be found in CVS: /python/nondist/sandbox/path/{path.py,test_path.py}
One thing is still different, though: a Path instance won't compare to a regular
string.

Hello,
I use an initialized "System.IO.FileInfo" class. The properties
"myFileInfo.FullName" or "myFileInfo.DirectoryName" deliver the directory
with MS-DOS convention.
Example: "c:\docume~1\...".
How can i get the full Path.
Example: "c:\documents\..."

Greetings,
I am using Web.Mail.Mailmessage
along with Web.Mail.SmtpMail.Send(MailMessage) method
Now, this sends Email using the Default SMTP server of my REMOTE HOST.
Sadly I have found that many ISP's block mail sent through this method.
I do have an SMTP server included in the Remote Hosting package,
but that SmtpServer requires authentication of outgoing mail.

I am having problems using the file.create method within a function
that is called when looping through an array of filepaths.
If I call my function with a hardcoded file path --C:\Temp.txt the
function creates the file as expected.
When I loop through my array I get the error - "ArgumentException was
unhandled - Illegal characters in path"
The value "C:\Temp.txt" is the first value in the array - as it works

I have a C# logging assembly with a static constructor and methods that is
called from another C# Assembly that is used as a COM interface for a VB6
Application. Ideally I need to build a file name based on the name of the
VB6 application. A second choice would be a file name based on the # COM
interface assembly. I have tried calling Assembly.GetCallingAssembly() but
this fails when I use the VB6 client. Is there a way to get this...

I'm posting code for a user control ( FunctionConnectorSelector) below which
has 3 content controls in it. each content control uses a style from a
resource dictionary merged into the app.xaml file. each control has a
border with another style, and each border has a unique path inside of it.
I need to dynamically add these content controls using c# at runtime and am
having trouble referencing the styles and adding the path into the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
