Complex XML document as input parameter?

Can anyone point to an example that uses a dataset as the input
parameter to a web service?

Can an XMLDataDocument be used as in input parameter to the web service?

Incoming data in my application needs to be stored in SQL or as XML
file, depending on the method invoked.

1st,
maybe interesting blog entry + comments on the issue of DataSets and
Webservices. Don't fail to read the comments. . .
http://ea.3leaf.com/2004/05/dataset_webserv.html

2nd, to answer your questions
I don't know of an example, but just define your webmethod to be
[webmethod] public void Method1(System. Data.DataSet ds1) { ... }

and that ought to work?

For arbitrary Xml input, consider XmlElement.

I have a table (tblCorrespondence) holding records with fields like , , , , , , , etc... About a dozen 's are defined and I often use queries to extract records of a given . That's pretty easy. But, recently, I wanted to list all "15" letters, a few of the above mentioned fields and one additional field: of nother letter "00" in the same row. That's the tough part.

Hello, I have webservice created with Axis 1.2.1 and that I am trying to consuming in .NET (VB) using the Microsoft provided tools. While I am able to consume methods on the service that return simple type, I cannot consume methods that return complex objects. I have tried experimenting, with this, but am at a bit of loss on where the problem lies. When I call the services from a browser, I do get back the response that contains valid...

Dear all, I am having trouble generating a client proxy for a webservice whose methods return a "complex" type. The type is complex in that it is a class whose members are a mix of primitive types and of more elaborate classes implementing IXmlSerializable. The resulting WSDL file for the webservice has two separate schemas in its <types> sections, and the client proxy (generated with wsdl.exe) is missing the definitions of the...

Hi all. I would like to create two web services: - The first one - ImportData - should take as an input parameter a XML document and return an integer saying if passed XML document was valid and was succesfully processed. - The second one - ExportData - should take as an input parameter an integer an return a XML document. I would like to know if it is possible to do something like that. Do I

Hi I have a array of complex numbers that are stored in a simple double array. This is done since the array is part of an wrapper for an external C library, and the imaginary part of the first element, and the last element are known to be 0. I've implemented a -operator that returns a ComplexReference object that basically maps a complex<doubleinto the storage used in the array. What I would like to do is using the ComplexReference...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
