I've added the ASPNET user to my local SQL Server 2000,
but I still get an unhandled exception: Login failed for
user 'C594891-A\ASPNET'. This is when using a web
service. A similiar ASP.NET application works perfectly
fine, even before I gave any access to the ASPNET account.
I read KB article 316989. In SQL Server 2000, I've added
a login, dbaccess, and granted full rights to the
'C594891-A\ASPNET user. This doesn't make any...

I had this problem in the past, after a server reformat it went away, and
now after another server reformat it's back again - no clue what's doing it.
Here's the flow:
Website root is public, no SSL no forms auth. One of the subfolders in the
public area is the root of a "protected" area; SSL is required from this
subfolder on forward and a web.config in the subfolder specifies forms
authentication. From the public area, I provide a...

I am implementing a secure website using the ASP.NET FormsAuthentication
model. I have taken the simplest code examples from MSDN
(login.aspx,default.aspx, web.config) but cannot get proper behavior on my
machine.
As an unauthenticated user, I navigate to the website http://localhost/XXX.
global.Authenticate_Request considers sending default.apsx but cannot find
any authentication cookie in the Context object, so the request is...

I have a mobile web application running on a server at work. There is a
strange thing happening though:
1) I can access and login to my mobile web app from any internet browser.
(good thing).
2) I can access and login to my mobile web app from any Palm Treo web
browser. (good thing).
3) When I use a regular mobile phone (samsung/motorola...etc) and load up my
website on the browser, it takes me to the login page. Now, when I enter my...

Hi
I need to set security for row level but not based on Database user's
login. It should be based on the user table login. For the particular
user I need to allow only the particular records to access insert,

Hi All,
We have a requirement where we have to develop a custom Login Page which
will accept user's NT credentials ( Username , password, domain name).
This then needs to be passed to a website which uses Windows Authentication
Now my question is how do we pass these credentials to IIS in classic ASP?
Would appreciate any help/pointers on this.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, all:
I have a website with its own login page. Now one of my clients want
their employees log into my website from their website. They want to
have their login page (look and feel are different and hosted on
another web server) and then send the user id and pwd to my login
page. What is the best to do this?
Pass the user id and pwd on the url is not a solution since everybody
will see the user's credential.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
