Label transparency

I'm trying to make my Label's transparent. According to the documentation,
setting the Label's BackColor property to Color::Transpar ent should do this.
However, all it seems to do is change the BackColor to the BackColor of the
Form its on. Needless to say, this is not the same as transparency,
especially when the Label overlaps with some other visible element or if
your Form has an image as a background!

Is there a way to make a Label truly transparent?

Hi, I had some label with BackColor.Transparent and a User Control also with transparent background. When I put a label on the user control, instead to have transparent result I obtain a background containing a kind of stack or buffer of all controls in my form that are defined with transparent background. I don't understand this! *-----------------------* Posted at:

I have Visual Basic .NET 2003, and wanted to create a form that only shows the contents of a label. The form can't have a title bar or border. It seriously needs to just be the text inside the label. Can this be done? Matthew

How on earth does one set the background property of a label to transparant, a la VB6? I have a label which overlays a picturebox, and I don't want the horrible grey background - I just want the text over the picturebox. The text dynamically moves around too. Effectivly, its a "You are Here" sort of thing, so I'm putting a red "X" in a label and moving it around.

Using VB.NET 2005 for WinForm App: When I make a label's BackColor Transparent it works when in front of a form's background image. But, when I put the label in front of a picture box with an image (Sent To Back) then the label's background doesn't show up transparent. Any ideas why?

I've been complaing about the VB2005 Help-Information (or rather the lack of it) before, but when I was looking how to set the backstyle of a label control to "Transparent" I found that the VB2005 documentation has reached an all-time low (please note the part about the z-order): MSDN: In Visual Basic 6.0, the BackStyle property of the Label control determines whether the label had a transparent background. Setting the BackStyle...

Hi all. I've been working on a small and very simple label design app for a few days now, I've got most of my problems solved, although I'm sure there are some more just around the corner! The current issue is trying to get dynamically created labels to be truly transparent. Setting the color value just doesn't do the job! I may have many labels on the form at any one time, when moving a label over

first, i don't know what could i possibly write for the "question" field... i have a button, and i put a label over it, i did that, and transparency and other things are not a problem for me, the problem is, when i take mouse over the label, the button no more has the "effect" which comes when mouse is over it (blue colored in vista/7) so what i wanna do is, somehow make button think the mouse is over it when the mouse is actually over the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
