I'm currently experiencing a strange phenomenon:
At my Office, Visual Studio takes a very long time to compile our solution
(more than 1 minute for the first project).
At home, Visual Studio compiles the same solution much faster (about 10
seconds for the first project).
My home computer is only marginally faster than the one I have at the office
(P4 2.53 vs. P4 2.4, same amount of RAM).

I'm trying to clear space on a laptop. Currently have Visual Studio 6
+ MSDN 98, AND VS2003 + recent MSDN. I had kept the older VS6 due to
some legacy apps with odd code that had trouble compiling under VS2003
(a long story...I didn't write the code, and it has to link with the
author's ActiveX modules).
Anyway, I'm thinking that aside from some details like that, VS 2003
will probably compile most of the legacy VC++ code. Can anyone...

I recently upgraded to from Visual Studio .NET 2003 to Visual Studio .NET
2005. In Visual Studio .NET 2003 when I would select 'Build' it would add a
*.dll with the name of the Project to a /bin/ folder in the same directory
as the source code. However, in Visual Studio .NET 2005 when I selected
'Publish Web Site' and selected a target location to place it in, it placed
the following files in it:
All *.aspx files
All *.html files

Hi !
I have a question : the ComboBox control have NO single border, and height
is at least 1 pixel higher than TextBox.
There is absolutely NO good reason for making a ComboBox looking that way.
My question is WHY Microsoft did that in the 3 versions of Visual
Studio/.NET releases (and probably will stay like that in the next version
of VS) ????

I have a 2 form project in VS2005 that now hangs whenever I try to do
anything with the second form. This seems to have started when I added some
SQL tables from a Pervasive v.9 database using the Pervasive ODBC driver.
The devenv.exe process hangs and will not respond with about 50% cpu usage
and about 100 megs of memory used.
I am running it on an Athlon 64 bit dual core with 32 bit Windows XP pro. I

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
