Hi all,
I declared a templatized function in a .hpp file in Project_A. If I insert
a reference to that function somewhere in Project_A, intellisense gives me
the function signature.
Now, in Project_B, I've included the path to Project_A's source files in the
project properties, and I've referenced the hpp file via a "#include"
statement. Project_B has no problem building, but intellisense doesn't know
anything about the function in the hpp file.
What am I missing? TIA! 2 1307
I guess I should add that this is unmanaged C++

When this happens I find deleting the *.ncb file of the project helps. Try
removing this file from the project directory (not deleting it), open the
project, rebuild(?), and see if it displays correctly.

Yesterday I typed in some C++ code that called a function with two
ints. Intellisense (auto-complete) helpfully told me that the first
formal parameter was called "frontLight" and the second "ringLight". It
occurred to me that I'm getting some semantic help here on top of the
obvious type safety. It seems to me that the existance of this kind of
support is tied to the static typing nature of C++.
I've always been interested in the...

Hi:
I have created an xsd from my xml document. I pop this xsd in the
following directory: C:\program files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
2003\Common7\Packages\schemas\xml. That give me intellisense when I specify
the name space. But leaving hte namespace in messes up my transforms.
Is there any way to get this intellisense functionality without adding the
namespace all the time?
Thanks,

I had a strange problem the other day when using
Intellisense, and wondering if anyone has any experience
with or advice on this...
Just to give some quick background, I have a multi-tier
application, with business objects coded in a business
layer (C# project), the service interfaces and service
objects coded in two C# projects, respectively.
In my service objects project, I go to call on one of the

Hi!
We have an application surveillance product with a number
of API's for different languages; one of them is a C API.
Now I wonder how we can supply intellisense to our Visual
Studio.Net (native C/C++) users (preferably both VS 7.0
and 7.1).
I would like to have something like the parameter info you
get for e.g. printf when you enter the opening
parenthesis, printf(

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It seems to work most when
declaring variables, and hitting "::" between namespaces. But when I hit
"->" I get the message "Intellisense: no additional information available"
in the status bar, sometimes. Other times it works. What the hell is that
all about? C# and VB's intellisense works just fine, and has since VS 4.0
150 years ago.

Lately, I have been experiencing 30 to 60 second delays after every
open parenthesis (calling a function), less than symbol (initializing
a template), object function call (dot after a class object to access
member functions/data), and pointer function call (arrow after pointer
to access member functions/data). It has gotten to the point where
the problem is most debilitating. Imagine waiting that long after
everyone of those actions...

Diehards,
I developed a template matrix class back around 1992 using Borland C++ 4.5
(ancestor of C++ Builder) and haven't touched it until a few days ago. I
pulled it from the freezer and thawed it out. I built a console app using
Microsoft Visual C++ 6 (VC++) and it worked great. Only one line in the
header file had to be commented out.
I built a console app using Borland C++ Builder 5. The linker complained of
references to...

It's perhaps not the end of the World, but I find it annoying

Does anyone know of a reasonable way to restore the IntelliSense

Thanks for your thoughts...

Hello,
I'm using __declspec(property) to access get/set methods as properties
(like in C# and VB.NET). Now, the problem is that both the property
name and the get/set methods show in the intellisense list. Is there
anyway to remove the names of the get/set methods from the
intellisense list?
Here's an example, I have two methods, one is a get method with the
name getText and another set method with the name setText, the name of
the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
