error C2365: 'formerly unknown identifier'

Hi,
Was wondering if anyone could help me with this odd error:
Am working in VS.Net Framework 1.1 C++.
I had a function defined as void colorizeImage() . I decided I didn't
need that function anymore and so renamed it to be void
filterTheImage( ). The compiler comes back and gives me this message:
c:\...\klt.cpp( 718): error C2365: 'filterTheImage ' : redefinition;
previous definition was a 'formerly unknown identifier'.

If I name it back to the previous name (colorizeImage( )) the compiler
is happy. I also tried to create a new function named
filterTheImage( ), but the compiler sqwaks on this too. An
accompanying error is: c:\...\klt.cpp( 205): error C3861:
'filterTheImage ': identifier not found, even with argument-dependent
lookup
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Beth

AS far as I can see, you are using filterTheImage someplace in you code,
before it is declared, inwhich case the compiler take a guess at what the
signature would be. It then finds the actual declaration which is in
conflict to the guess it made (the compiler would assume that it returned
int instead of void)

I have 3 files here - Header/Implementation/Driver All it has to do is send the user's input (age)..to the class and the class will figure out the price of the ticket. I have been trying to cin an number from 0 to 9 with a leading 0. For example 00 or 07. I was using a switch case. switch (int) { case 01: break; case 02: break;..... My problem arises at 08 and 09 because they are not octal. Is there any way to coerce the input variable to decimal despite it having a leading zero .

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
