Hi,
I'm programming a WinForm application. I would like to
enter commands that will send output that will help me to
locate bugs in the future.
I know that there is a way to send output by using the
Console.Write command. The question is how can I see the
outputs in the client machine ? Is there a specific
programm to do it or Can I use the prompt window ?

I'm writing a console app (in C#) and I want to be able to redirect the
standard input/output streams when it's run at a command prompt. IOW I want
to support the "<" and ">" redirection syntax. The obvious way to do this is
by using the static Console type properties, In and Out. When trying to
debug the app in the IDE however, this doesn't appear to work. I've edited
the project properties and added the necessary text to the "command...

Hi
I am "playing" with some simple aspects of C# with Visual Studio. All I
would like to know right now is how do I get the Console.Write method to
write its output in the Visual Studio debug/output pane? At the moment my
application creates a "command" window and writes output there (all by
itself) - and said window closes itself when the application terminates. (So
I guess somewhere in Visual Studio configuration there is an output...

I'm compiling an old C program within Visual Studio to give me the
advantages of debugging within this environment. I'm building it as a
Console application using C++ as the language. It compiles and runs fine,
but if start debugging from within Visual Studio the standard output does
not seem to go anywhere. Standard output within my C program is via printf
commands. I dont want to start embedding Debug or Console statements since I
want...

Hi,
I would like to do this in VB Languague.
I have an executable file in DOS mode. This executable returns informations
and display them to the DOS window. Unfortunately, I have to process theses
informations.
The way to do that, is to redirect standard input and output, insn't it ?
This is possible in C++ language, but I cannot make any line in this
language.

Ok, basically this is my problem. I'm building a console app tocall a dos program. So i'm using the Shell command to call theprogram, now depending on what happens, I want to read theoutput that this program returns. I'm just missing the stepshere. I know that I can set the Shell command to an integer, but this only returns a 0 to me telling me that it executed, notwhat is being returned to the console by that application. Isthere a way to...

I'm trying to debug a console application, but I can't see the console
output. I've seen many references which say that console output is
supposed to appear on the Output window when the application is run in
Debug mode. However, I just can't get that to work.
I'm using Visual Studio 2005. I've confirmed that my application is
compiled as a console application, and that I'm running in Debug mode.
To investigate this issue, I've reduced...

I am using the following command to output my results to the Output window
(for testing things out).
Console.WriteLine ("Output")
I'd like to clear the Output window of any previous output. I tried
Console.Clear
but, this results in an error.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
