The January 2004 MSDN library is the most recent version. You can download
samples etc from msdn.microsoft. com.

My last MSDN is also April 2003. When I downloaded and tried to install
"MSDNVSsp1-KB827819-X86-Enu.exe" or "NDP1.1-KB827821-X86-Enu.exe", both from
MS's web site, I received the message:

"The upgrade patch can not be installed by the Windows Installer service
because the program to be updated may be missing, or the upgrade patch may
update a different version of the program. Verify that the version to be
upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade
patch."

Does this mean that these updates require a later MSDN ? I already have the
latest .NET and the latest VS Studio.

Is there a way to set the application binding policy so that it always binds to the latest version of an assembly? I'm hoping there is a way to avoid updating the application's binding configuration every time there is an update to a shared assembly.

Can someone tell me how to get the latest version of C#? I've installed from the June 2004 dvd (69586-335-00000007-18273), but a coworker has a more recent C# (the last part of the version is 600 more than mine). I reinstalled and let it check for service packs on the internet and it didn't find any. Also, I looked through the msdn index of shipments and don't see anything past my version. Can someone tell me if there are service...

Hi all, I'd like to submit what it seems to be a bug as for the Unicode compliance of methods like Char.Is...: as stated by the latest version of Unicode, codes +03F2 and +03F9 represent Greek lunate sigma, lowercase and uppercase respectively (c and C). For these codes I get the following results: +03F2: lowercase c: Char.IsLetter() = true (OK) Char.IsUpper() = false (OK) Char.IsLower() = true (OK)

Hi all, Here's the link to the issue we were seeing on our ASP.NET system when modifying, adding and deleting directories in framework 2.0. http://blogs.msdn.com/toddca/archive/2005/12/01/499144.aspx I then tried a few of solution I found while perusing Google, - FCNMode registry mod - Relocating to App_Data folder to create/modify/delete directories.

I can find a lot of stuff on the internet about javascript, except how to I determine which version my IE6 is compatible with, or where to download javascript plugin/engine/what-ever for Windows (windows 98 se specifically). Basically, I don't write java or javascript code, but I want to update or tweak or fix how IE is handling javascript on my system currently. Where do I get that "stuff" ???

Comming from JSP-HTML when I hear 'script' I think of JavaScript or perhaps VBScript. But I think in ASP.NET they mean something else? I am bit confused now. Reading a book I see the following: A simple Web page may look like the following. <!-page directives--> <%@ Page Language="VB" %>

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
