(2 western digital 80gigs and a fx5200) and i wanted to play some games to test it out. and when the program is about to get to the main menu or in the game. an error comes up and "visual c++ runtime error: abnormal program termination" then after it gives me a bunch of addresses and a reference and says "the memory cannot be "read" any help?

All that means is that whatever application it is that has a problem was
developed with VC++. You need to determine the application and then query
its support people to determine if it is compatible with XP.

Well, then I'm sorry to say that I can't offer much help.

Still, it is more likely to be a problem with some component written with
VC++ (video driver, Open GL, DirectX etc) than with VC++ which is the topic
of this group. :-(

Will

I am currently taking a college course in Visual Basic.Net and I am a beginner. I bought Visual Studio.Net 2003 to do my homework at home. I built my first project and e-mailed it to myself at school. When I tried to open it in the lab, I got a message saying I couldn't open it because it was created with a newer version. Evidently the lab is using Visual Studio.Net 2002. My professor doesn't just want the executable file, he wants...

The good news: Along with Python-2.4 comes really good news to Windows users. Yes, you now CAN build extension modules yourself using the SAME C++ compiler and linker Python is built with itself. Everything you need is available at no costs (except download hassle and installation time). Once your system is set up properly its just a matter of running 'python setup.py build'. No longer waiting for someone else to build binaries and a...

Hello Experts! I reading a book called programming with design pattern revealed by Tomasz Muldner and here I read something that sound strange. "Exception are divided into logic errors and runtime errors. Logic errors represent static errors that can be prevented and detected at compile time. Runtime errors represent dynamic errors that can be detected only at runtime."

Ok now that I have your attention...I really don't think ist's a P.O.S. but I am getting rather annoyed. In one particular Visual Basic ASP.Net project, when running the project (F5) I get this error message and VS closes: Runtime Error! Program: ...Microsoft Visual Studio .Net 2003\Common\IDE\devenv.exe

The IDE crashes about every 10-20 minutes for me.. its been doing this ever since I started this project (The project was a 2003 project but I recreated it in 2005) When it crashes, its usually after I close the app I'm testing.. lets say I'm debugging the app, and I get an exception, and I have to stop the execution for whatever reason, after that, next time I try to compile (as in either Build or Build in Run, or even build a setup...

I recently upgraded to from Visual Studio .NET 2003 to Visual Studio .NET 2005. In Visual Studio .NET 2003 when I would select 'Build' it would add a *.dll with the name of the Project to a /bin/ folder in the same directory as the source code. However, in Visual Studio .NET 2005 when I selected 'Publish Web Site' and selected a target location to place it in, it placed the following files in it: All *.aspx files All *.html files

Hopefully someone here can help me/point me in the right direction. I've found tons of references towards making relations, creating rows, saving said rows, using datagrids, databinding objects, and etc in regards to Windows Forms, C#, and Visual Studio .Net 2003. I seem to have run into a bit of a problem however. I'm not using datagrids to show related data, my users wouldn't have any idea how to use them, and they want to see all of...

I am using Visual Studio.NET 2003, and to my surprise, the below code in a simple console application does not work for me: char *str = "hello!"; *str = 'H'; <-- error str = 'H'; <-- error The above code compiles just fine, but I am getting runtime errors. If managed extensions are used, I'm getting "Objest reference is not set to an object." If I disable managed extensions, I get "Access

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
