I haven't been able to figure this out and would
appreciate some help...
I have two tables, both with autonumber primary
keys, and linked in a conventional master-child
relationship. I've created forms for both those
tables, and inserted the child table form into the
master table form as a subform. It works just as
it is supposed to, in that I can create a new master
record, and then add detail records.

I did a ton of searching to try and find a simple solution to this issue and finally wrote my own, which I am sharing with everyone. In my searching, I did find a very complete and robust solution at
http://weblogs.asp.net/asmith/archive/2003/09/15/27684.aspx
but it was far more complex then I needed. (I got lost trying to figure it all out). Therefore, here goes my simple "web dialog box with parent event handler fireing" solution.

I am really trying to find the best OOP way of doing this. I have a
parent MDI form with multiple children and I am trying to communicate
variables between them. I have been able to successfully get the
parent form to read the child variable by using a Public Property in
one of my child forms like such:
Public ReadOnly Property ID() As String
Get
Return strID
End Get

For some reason, when I click the X to close my MDI parent form, the action
appears to be re-directed to one of the MDI child forms, and the parent
remains open. I am then unable to close the application.
What should happen, is that the main MDI form should close, taking the child
forms with it. There is code to loop through the child forms, remove the
controls on each of them, and then close the form, but this code should
execute only...

I am using VB.NET 2003.
I have read the threads concerning the problem where the
FormStartPosition of CenterParent is ignored if the form is displayed
with the Show method as opposed to the ShowDialog method. I am having
a similar problem and I found a thread that had the following code in
the child form's Load event:
Me.Location = New Point(( _
Me.MdiParent.ClientSize.Width - Me.Width) * 0.5,

Help! Another newbie question I'm afraid. I have a toolbar on an MDI form,
which I can control OK to produce a child form. When the child form is
active, the appropriate MDI parent form toolbar button properties are set as
follows: .pushed=true and .enabled=false.
My problem is how do I set the reverse conditions when I close this child
form? I have tried putting (in the Exit button click event)
Toolbar1.Buttons(6).Pushed=False...

I have a form that shows another child form using the Show()
operation. Since the child is modaless, I would like the option that
when I click anywhere on the parent form that the parent form comes in
front of the child. I added a callback in the parent form to call
BringToFront() when I selected anywhere in the parent form, but it
didn't work. Is there an option that I can specify in the child form
to allow for this behavior?
