When I write some scrap of code using .NET C++ and place it under
#pragma unmanaged. It will be compiled as native code.
But can any obsfuscator etc programs see the contents of that code???
Can I trust that code as secure as it was while using VC6.0++

Hi,
I'm programming C# on Windows XP where everything works fine, but can
I also take my software on e.g. a Win98 or WinNT computer and let it
run there? What OS is needed for C# (at least to run the files, not
necessarily compile them..)?
thank you!

Hi,
I am working on a mixed native/managed project involving DirectShow and am
trying to decide how the modules should be partitioned. I am trying to
understand the true affect of #pragma unmanaged in a managed project. From my
research it seems that, assuming there are no managed/native thunks involved,
the code should perform as though it were compiled in a native Win32 project.
However, as a simple test, I created a project that...

Hi,
I'm developing an ASP.NET application. I imported a C++ dll into the C# code.
When I tried to access a function in that dll, application threw an exception
"System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException:External component has thrown
an exception". I debugged the unmanaged C++ code & found that the code that
generated this exception is
CDaoDatabase db;
db.open("C:\\VM.mdb") // this is the code that generated exception

IE.. Tools -> Internet Options -> Settings Button ->
Check for newer versions of stored pages = Never
If a user changes thier settings to this, then pages are cached in IE.
From what we've found, you have to use the following Meta tags in the HEAD
section to stop it doing it.
meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache"
meta http-equiv="Expires" content="0"

Greetings,
My group has an SDK that was developed 5 years ago with VC++ 6.
Over the last years, the requests for a VS.NET SDK has reached critical mass
and I am now in the process of doing that.
Actually, the first release of this 'port' is be a simple rebuild of the
unmanaged C++ SDK in VS.NET. I have done this part already, using VS.NET
2003.

I have a form that I programmatically generate some check boxes and labels on.
Later on when I want to draw the form with different data I want to clear
the previously created items and then put some new ones on.
In my code I am doing the following:
For Each ctrl In tpMain.Controls
If TypeOf (ctrl) Is CheckBox Then
If ctrl.Name.StartsWith("chkS") Then
ctrl.Visible = False

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
