Encoding ASCII color?

Hi,
I am writing in Managed C++ and trying to send an ASCII
string to a telnet application that supports color. Does
anyone know how to encode a color for the string that I am
sending? This is what I have:

Byte byteMessage []= Encoding::ASCII->GetBytes(messa ge-
ToCharArray()) ;

m_sock->Send( byteMessage, byteMessage->Length,
SocketFlags::No ne );

Where message is a String.

Thanks,
Tim

Recently I was editing a document in GoLive 6. I like GoLive because it has some nice features such as: * rewrite source code * check syntax * global search & replace (through several files at once) * regular expression search & replace. Normally my documents are encoded with the ISO setting. Recently I was writing an XHTML document. After changing the encoding to UTF-8 I used the

Long story longer. I need to get web user input into a backend system that a) only grocks single byte encoding, b) expectes the data transer to be 1 bytes = 1 character, and c) uses the HP Roman-6 codepage system wide. As much as it sounds good, UTF/Unicode encoding is not an option, nor is changing the codepage. Tackling the first is easy via Encoding.Default.GetBytes and shoving it over the network. However, Encoding.Default is the...

Hi, I have an Html document that declares that it uses the utf-8 character set. As this document is editable via a web interface I need to make sure than high-ascii characters that may be accidentally entered are properly represented when the document is served. My programming language allows me to get the ascii value for any individual character so what I am doing when a change is saved is to look at each character in the content and...

when I execute dim strTEMP_DATA as string strTEMP_DATA = Encoding.ASCII.GetString(rBuffer).ToString I alway get a string without the closing quote. I see this in the 'Autos' window, I also see it when I hoover my mouse over the strTEMP_DATA above. An example would be: It looks like "test

Hi, I'm in the process if converting the data out of an old DOS-based SunAccounts system (don't ask!) into SQL Server. The data has been sent to me as a collection of hundreds of SunAccounts backup files and it's a simple (yet extremely laborious!) process of opening each backup file in turn, reading the file line by line, splitting it up into its constituent parts, and then squirting it into SQL Server.

ElementTree's XML serialization routine implied by tree._write(file, node, encoding, namespaces looks like this (elided): def _write(self, file, node, encoding, namespaces): # write XML to file tag = node.tag if tag is Comment: file.write("<!-- %s -->" % _escape_cdata(node.text, encoding)) elif tag is ProcessingInstruction: file.write("<?%s?>" % _escape_cdata(node.text, encoding))

I have the following code section that I thought would strip out all the non-ascii characters from a string after decoding it. Unfortunately the non-ascii characters are still in the string. What am I doing wrong? Dim plainText As String plainText = "tâ•e" Dim plainTextBytes() As Byte Dim enc As Encoding = Encoding.ASCII plainTextBytes = enc.GetBytes(plainText)

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
