I wrote a program in C long time ago and I lost my code and all the
intermediate files. All I have is the "exe" file that was generated
when I executed it. Can the code be retrieved from this exe file?
If not, is there a way I can atleast view the contents of the exe file?
Thanks in Advance

I have run an experiment to try to learn some things about floating point
performance in managed C++. I am using Visual Studio
2003. I was hoping to get a feel for whether or not it would make sense to
punch out from managed code to native code (I was using
IJW) in order to do some amount of floating point work and, if so, what that
certain amount of floating point work was
approximately.
To attempt to do this I made a program that...

under ASP.NET, single stepping in debug mode appears not
to stop within event procedures. i.e. 1) Create web page
with submit button and event procedure for the click
event in the code behind page, 2) Breakpoint in the
Page_Load, 3) debug the web page and click the submit
button, 4) "step into" under debug several times, 5) The
debugger does not stop at any of the statements in the
click event handler. A breakpoint is needed in each...

I can get data from a client-side assembly to the server in two manual
steps, but I need to be able to do it in one step.
Step 1:
The user presses the manually coded "Step 1" button, which calls the
JavaScript function.
The function copies the data into a server textbox control.
Step 2:
The user presses the VS generated "Step 2" button, which calls the

I need to know what happens after Page_load has finished so I put a
breakpoint at the last statement. However after stepping into after this
last statement, the app continues running without the debugger. Why can't I
single step until the screen has fully rendered?

Hello,
can anybody tell me what the trick is to getting VB.NET 2003 to step into
the code of an assembly that I have referenced in my project?
For instance, I have these two assemblies, both written by me in VB.NET
2003, and both referenced in my project. I have some code that looks like
the following:
With g_toc
.RefreshLegend = False
.ShapePath = g_RegCtl.Reg.AvShapes

In our environment we have several C++ header files that have some
inline member function definitions. For some reason, I am unable to
step through the source code of those member functions in my debugger
(Insight debugger, which is a GUI front-end to GDB version 5.3). In
fact, when I try to view the header file, all I see is assembly
language. There is another header file in the same directory, which
does not have any inline member...

Some compilers support __asm{ } statement which allows integration of C
and raw assembly code. A while back I asked a question about such
syntax and was told that __asm is not a part of a C standard. My
question now is:
Is there a chance that such statement will become a part of C standard
in the future? In some cases using asm language is the best way to
acomplish some small task, hence integration of C and asm would greatly

I'm new to working with mixed assemblies. All of my previous experience has
been with VC++/MFC in native, unmanaged applications.
When I create a mixed assembly in which one or more of the files compiles
with /clr the instructions say that I need to change the switch for Debug
information format from Program Database for Edit & Continue to disabled.
At runtime I find that I am not able to set breakpoints in the managed code,
nor trace...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
