Hello,
I am trying to read an xml file into a web page via vb.net. I am
current using an rss format and reading it directly into a DataSet
with the following command:
ds.ReadXml("xmlfilepath\xmlfile.xml", XmlReadMode.Auto)
Here is an example of an element in the xml file:

Hi, I searched through this newsgroup looking for an answer for this, but
didn't find any (it probably is here. Just didn't find it).
I am trying to retrieve information from two related tables, using For XML
Auto, and then use that in my C# app. I am only receiving the
first row (and its child rows). This is what I do:
Stored Procedure:
Create Procedure dbo.uspTest04

I am reading in xml files that equate to sql tables, via XmlDataDocument,
and then operating on the DataSet. With the most simple app that just loads
the xml doc, I see the memory footprint of the app grow to roughly 5x the
size of the xml document after the xml doc is read. Can anyone comment on
this? Is this expected?
Below are two samples, the first hits northwind, and creates a 19meg
(roughly, on my machine) xml file. The second...

I am using VB ASP.NET. In my page I convert an uploaded XML file to a
dataset as follows:
Dim ds1 As DataSet = New DataSet
ds1.ReadXml(strPathName, XmlReadMode.Auto)
Now I want to append all the rows of ds1 to an existing table in an SQL
Server database. I know I can do things like looping through the dataset and
issuing Update SQL statements to do this but I suspect there is a better

Hi ,
I am using the method:
DSSap.ReadXml( XmlPath,XmlReadMode.InferSchema );
And as I expected I get an error when the xml does not matching my DataSet that contains already a schema ,
The problem is that I get the following to-much detailed message:
System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format.
at System.Number.ParseInt32(String s, NumberStyles style, NumberFormatInfo info)
at System.Int32.Parse(String s,...

Hi,
Ive had a bit of a look around for other people with this problem and
cant find anything that solves it in my case, so I'm afraid im going to
have to bother you all with a post of my own.
Essentially, I am trying to read in an xml schema and then an xml
document into a dataset using ReadXmlSchema and then ReadXml. When i do
this, i end up with a table in the dataset (which i assume is created
when i read the schema), but no rows...

Hello.
Developing a web site in VS2005, SP1, VB, .NET 2.0, ASP.NET 2.0 on XP Pro,
SP2.
I eventually want to use a gridview table to view xml data, but right now i
can't seem to get my xml data into a dataset so that i can use it.
I have an XML file and can open it in IE. There is no XSD or XSL file to go
with it.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
