There are some examples out there. I think casey chesnut published an
example using the mappoint service. Google for it (or him).

As to the difference,
mapoint.NET is a for-fee service on the web.
MapPoint 2004 is a desktop app.

I am consuming the MapPoint .NET web service using PHP5. My preferred option would be to use the built-in soap classes since they are more tightly coupled with PHP and should be quicker because they are written in C.. All seems to work fine until now, I have a problem creating a cetain complex types. This is the request generated by the MS example code for the GetMap() function which worked as desired but required NuSOAP: <?xml...

I just discovered MapPoint Web Service so I got an evaluation account and I tried to execute the last sample on this page : http://demo.mappoint.net/ I got the application running but it couldn't connect to the Web Service and displayed an error dialog box. I just added a debugging instruction to know what was this exception and I got the...

Hi. I am trying to get through to Microsoft MapPoint Services using ZSI for soap handling. I can generate the service classes and also the soap-requests generated by the service classes seem to be OK. The problem I am facing is that I can't seem to authenticate myself. I have made a small change to ZSI.client so that when I get a "401 Unauthorized" response from the remote server I build up a nice authorization request:

I just went through all the hoops to sign up for the MS MapPointWeb service. I want to add maps to dynamically created aspx pages (VB) and thought this would be the way to do it. I am trying to follow the SDK to see how to add the code to my page to accomplish this but every example I've found starts with the comment: 'This example assumes that the MapPoint Web Service 'namespace has been imported and I cannot find the syntax to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
