preserving Dataset original XML schema

Hi,
I've a schema which mpas quite good to a tabular datastructure, so I feed a
dataset with it without problems.

the problem is that I've an xml element that is correctly mapped as column
of a table but it appears after a child table.

In other words it's

<table1>
<table2>
<field1child> x</field1child>
<field2child> x</field1child>
</table2>
<field1master>x </field1master>
<table1>

instead of

<table1>
<field1master>x </field1master>
<table2>
<field1child> x</field1child>
<field2child> x</field1child>
</table2>
<table1>
I load the xml schema into the dataset and then load the xml data. so far so
good.
If now I output the xml from the dataset the
<field1master>x </field1master> is brought up before table2. , (the same
apply if I query the dataset underlying xml schema)

Of course this resulting XML does not validate against the original schema.

is there any hope to have the xml schema preserve the element order ?

thank for your help

Hi, I've got a simple console app that just reads an XML file into a DataSet then prints out a description of each table in the DataSet, including column names and row values for each column. I'm getting some strange results depending the input XML file I use. I was wondering if somebody could help me understand what is going on or point me to a good reference. The code for my program looks like this:

Hi all, I've seen that many people have had this exact same problem in the past, but no-one seems to post the answer when (if) they solve it... so here we go again. If I create a strongly typed dataset from an xsd schema I've created in VS.NET 2002, instantiate and populate the dataset and write it as XML using WriteXML() the generated XML file is not valid based on the xsd file used to create the dataset.

I have successfully loaded a DataSet object with a XML schema (XSD). Now I wish to populate the tables that was created in the DataSet. I have an XML file/string that contain all the needed data in the same format as the XSD (the XML file/string was created using this same schema). The XML file/string may contain data for a single table or for several tables at once. The question is:

In an 2.0 asp app I used vs.net 2005 to create a TableAdapter:Dataset in my App_code directory. I also created a new vb class in that same directory. I have two issues: 1. I notice that there are errors in the xml code for the dataset... <TableAdapter BaseClass="system.ComponentModel.Component" DataAccessorModifier... the DataAccessorModifier is underlined as an error - if I hover over it, it says that attribute is not declared. ...

I have this scenario: 1. XML file with schema and data is created from SQL Server tables. XML file contains 6 tables, some of them have rows, some of them are empty. 2. XML file is given to the person with Pocket PC. 3. XML file is used to populate DataSet on the Pocket PC. 4. User adds new rows, changes values, deletes some rows. 5. Altered dataset is saved back to XML file. 6. XML file is given back to the person who initially created...

I'm trying to validate input from an xml source to a dataset in dotnet2.0. As far as I can see, type errors correctly cause an exception, but values that are the correct type but do not satisify xsd:restriction conditions are ingested without a murmur. Is this a bug or a feature? Very frustrating. Evidence: 1) XML data <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

It seems like this should be easy, but it has proven to be quite painful. I have an existing dataset, which I used the GetChanges and WriteXML functions upon to write out a DiffGram to a local XML file. I want to use this same dataset (in another instance of the application) and the DiffGram to display the changes in the DataGridView as they existed after the user made his/her change. In English:

This would better be described by 'serialization' than 'interop', but I didn't find a newsgroup that seems closer on topic. The problem in a few words: I save data with DataSet.WriteXML, but I get different data back when I read it later with DataSet.ReadXml. More detail:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
