InnerXml

hello,

i despair on one simple problem (maybe it's to simple???)

I have the string txt = "hallo</hmm>" or txt = "am&24"

and want to pass it to the XmlNode InnerXml property

myNode.InnerXml = txt //error

----------------------------------------------------------

how can i transform that string to a valid value. i searched thru all
classes and maybe i'm to blind...

hope some understand and can help

If you are going to set InnerXml, it must be valid xml.

If you just want to store the value, call InnerText

thanks!

One question. Before I found a solution:

xmlNode.AppendC hild(xmlDocumen t.CreateTextNod e(txt));

is this a worser, slower approach or equal?

Well it will work because you are adding text and not Xml.

It is really no different than just setting the xmlNode.InnerTe xt Property.

Maybe someone from the team could answer, I personally just set InnerText

Why isn't there a way in standard DOM to access all XML of a node? (Similar to what outerHTML and innerHTML can do on Firefox or Internet Explorer when accessing HTML.) Or am I missing something? -- Google Blogoscoped http://blog.outer-court.com

Selecting element nodes from a xmlDataDocument using the childNodes collection or by using selectSingleNode and then reading innerXml or outerXml leaks cpu-resources. A trivial example showing this behaviour is included below. Running this example increases the cpu-load gradually and reaches 100% within a minute or two. The problem exists with innerXml as well as outerXml operations. Using a xmlDocument instead of a xmlDataDocument...

I'm trying to get some text into an XMLElement that may or may not contain markup, and it may or may not contain characters that need escaping. I want the special characters escaped, but I want to preserve the markup. This is so a user can enter some text with (xml compatible) HTML tags and have it render properly (via XSLT) without having to know about escaping the ampersand. For example, I want to take the text: "Nice t-shirt <p/>...

Hi... I just noticed something that seems counter-intuitive to me. By default an XmlDocument is set with PreserveWhitespace=false. This means that XmlDocument.Load() or .LoadXml() will strip/condense non-semantic whitespace. *But* I just found that if you take that self-same XmlDocument and do either XmlDocumentFragment node = doc.CreateDocumentFragment(); node.InnerXml = "<foo/>\r\n<bar/>";

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
