Creating a hierarchical dataset from an xml document

Hi,
I have an xml document (Xml1.xml) with the foll.structure:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<REPORTS>
<SCOPE TITLE="My Reports">
<REPORT URL="Report1.as px" AUTHOR="me">Fir st Report</REPORT>
with several SCOPE and REPORT elements.
How do I create a dataset, where Table[0] has the Scope info, with a column
Title; Table[1] has Report info. that is only the InnerText in a particular
column; and Table[2] has Attribute info. of the Report element in different
columns ?
Thanks a lot.

Hi, We have XML files (and its XSD) that are dump of our tree-like data structure in memory. These XML files may potentially have unlimited levels of nesting because some elements can contain themselves (recursively defined). We want to build some reports using some third party reporting tool (Crystal Report, for example).

When a DataSet is used as data source for a DataGrid one can get hiearachical datagrid by using relations among the DataTables of the DataSet. (By hierarchical datagrid, I mean columns that can be expanded and collapsed with '+' buttons). How can I achieve a hierarchical DataGrid when using an ArrayList as data source? I have tried binding ArrayList containing an ArrayList to the datagrid, but this just shows the public properties of...

Hello! I have an urgent problem concerning ASP.NET, ADO.NET, SQL Server, XML and the TreeView control. I have two tables; one describing the products and one describing their relationships. A product may consist of multiple other products. So far everything is great. But one product may exist as a subproduct to multiple parent products. My tables:

I'm working with the Northwind database tables 'Customers', 'Orders', and 'Order Details': 'CustomerID' relates 'Orders' to 'Customers', and 'OrderID' relates 'Order Details' to 'Orders'. For displaying this hierarchical data I create a DataSet, append and fill a DataTable for each database table, and finally set up two Relations. Say, I want to bind the dataset to a flat DataGrid where each row consists of the columns 'CompanyName'...

Hi all, I need to generate a word document and save it on the server from an ASP.Net application. Basically I want to load a word template and insert some field values from a dataset and save the final output as a Word document. I know there are different options to do this. But I can't decide which one I should use. I don't want to use automation on the server because of scalability issues and it is not recommended by Microsoft. So I am...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
