XmsValidatingRe ader: better error message?

When loading an XmlSchemaCollec tion with a corrupted .XSD
file I get an XmlSchemaExcept ion thrown with a helpful
Message such as "The following text is not allowed in this
context: XXX. An error occurred at File:<filename>
(10,35)" with 10,35 being the row and column of the
offending characters.

However, when using XmlValidatingRe ader to deserialize a
similarly corrupted .XML file, I get and
InvalidOperatio nException thrown with the not-so-helpful
message "There is an error in the XML document".

Is there any way I can get a better error message? The
ValidationEvent Handler is passed the same primitive error
message. Code follows.

Many thanks

rdr = new XmlValidatingRe ader( new XmlTextReader( new
StreamReader("D BSchema.xml") ) );
rdr.ValidationT ype = ValidationType. Schema;
rdr.Schemas.Add (sc); // Schema Collection

// Deserialize and validate the .XML file
myRoot = (RootSchema) mySerializer.De serialize(rdr);

I have over 5000 thumbnail pictures of size 5kb each. I would like to able to load all 5000 pictures and view 50 per page using mysql_data_seek(). I would like to know what are the advantages and disadvantages of using a MySQL blob field rather than reading the images directly from the file? How does one insert an image into a blob field? Can it be done dynamically? Thank you John

Lets say I have a class that is only available if a specific DLL (a.dll) is present. I can't link to that DLL through lib files or my app will fail on any machine that doesn't have a.dll. So I do LoadLibrary()'s and keep function pointers in my wrapper class... Which is a better style? DWORD CClass::SomeFunc() { if (m_pfn != NULL)

Hello all, First off, if there is a better place to post for an answer to this question, please feel free to point me there. I have some very strange behavior happening with my System.web.mail objects. I was able to run my application fine for roughly 1500 email messages. The next time I tried sending mail, it stopped working with the message: "

Hi, I am using a compare validator in asp.net application(c# code). This Custom validator is used for comparing a value enterd by the user against the primary key in the SQL database. IF the VALUE ENTERED BY THE USER EXISTS IN THE DB , then THE ERROR MESSAGE OF THE COMPARE VALIDATOR SHOULD BE DISPLAYED. For this, I used the reference artiicle "http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-...

hello all, i'm writing network message processors for a server app. after dispatching, the processor function is called for the given message type. the tokens in the message are validated, checked against the server state, and if everything is ok, an operation is perfomed, and optionally a reply is sent back. in some cases of invalid input, an error message is sent back. with the naive approach this leads to deeply nested if statements

Hi All, I'm trying to create a function that will cause a pop-up alert to appear if dates which were chosen from a drop-down list were invalid on a page. There's 4 dates, so there's the possibility of 4 errors at once. I'd like to pop-up all the errors at once, so the user can correct all the errors at once. My issue is format. I'd like a message something like... ERROR: Acquired Date Invalid - only 28 days in February for year

Yes, I wasted the past two days trying to fix this. Yes, this is on a Win2003 Server. Yes, this machine is a domain controller. Yes, I seen the dozens of KB articles like this one: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q315158 But the problem is that 99% of these are for ASP .NET 1.x and this is .NET 2.x which I just installed to try and get .net working for the first time ever. I've see all the HACKS to get .net 1.x...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
