I want an element that must have either attribute A or B.
<Thing1 A="aaa"/> <Thing1 B="bbb"/>
I want to enforce this in my schema . If A and B were
elements, I could use choice.
<xs:attribute name="A"/>
<xs:attribute name="B"/>
<xs:element name="Thing1">
<xs:complexType >
<xs:choice >
<xs:element ref="A"/>
<xs:element ref="B"/>
</xs:choice>
</xs:complexType>
</xs:element>
But choice only works for elements, and I am stuck.
Is there a way to do "choice" for attributes?
And if so, how about for attributeGroups too?
Making both attributes optional would accept valid input
but not reject all invalid input. I am hoping for better.
Thanks! 3 1541
No, XSD does not support this.

Hi all,
In a discussion with Tak-Shing Chan the question came up whether the
as-if rule can cover I/O functions. Basically, he maintains it can, and
I think it doesn't.
Consider two programs:

Hi,
One of the people here at work has designed a database that students
will be using to enter data. She has Yes/No selection buttons, which
start out grayed out with no value. If a student selects the Yes or
No in error, is there any simple way to allow for the boxes to be
unchecked again to "no selection"? Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan M.

Hi,
can't figure this one out, what's the CSS way to specify the language?
In HTML it would be simply an lang="xx" attribute, or XHTML
xml:lang="xx", but, how about in CSS? This would be required for a
screen reader (text to speech) for accessibility, to help the reader
software use the correct presentation method (e.g. correct language
module).

Hi, Everyone!
I'd need a little help. I understand this is not valid, but is there
an (easy) way to make it valid?

<xs:element name="position" type="pos_Type"/>

Background:
I am trying to "merge" some attributes into an existing XML column in my MS SQL 2005 database. The general idea is that I have an XML column in a table and I would like to update/delete some values while leaving the other values alone. I am designing this database/table/column so maybe I could use attributes or elements/nodes, the choice is ultimately mine. The one constraint is that I have to allow for customized name/value pairs....

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
